Hello, please guys I need an advise.

My little sis lives in Egypt and I was supposed to send her 700k to sort out some bills there, she sent me the account details I should credit, the account is a Nigerian account, and have sent money to her multiple times through same receiver's account (the receiver collect the money in his Nigerian GTbank account and give her Egypt currency equivalence).

She came back to Nigeria yesterday, she needed the money on Monday, and I couldn't reach her from Last week Thursday till Tuesday evening. On Monday, I sent the 700k to the account she gave me earlier, and dropped her a message on WhatsApp, and on Tuesday evening, are number were active, she called and told me that she is already in the airport and not possible to return to the guy's house to get the cash, because she will miss her flight (to visit the receiver house in Egypt it will take 3hrs+). We have both been trying to call the receiver and he has be ignoring our calls, he even blocked me.

Please guys, I sent the money through my Union Bank, the receiver bank is Gtbank. I already called my bank to see if it can be reversed and they told me they will contact the receiver bank and see what they can do.

Please I just want to know my probability of getting the refund, anyone who have experienced such please advise me. 700k this period is not small, abeg.

Your Bank is in the best position to write his bank for a reversal ...but your Sis ought to know the person well and how the banking system operate in Egypt... So see her first , mean while write to your bank, he doesn't know you,so he might not be obligated to pick your call especially if it is a foreign number and you have not been talking before.

Thanks for your input, I appreciate. I already sent a mail to my bank yesterday, and yet to get feedback from them, I called them yesterday too to make the complaint, the support agent told me she will escalate it, I also called this morning to follow up, the agent I spoke with told me the previous agent I spoke with already escalated it, and that I should call back later for update.

For the guy, we chat and talk on call more often, but now it's different, he doesn't pick or respond anymore.

i think is is still too early to accuse the guy of scamming you because there is no where in your story that you notified him of incoming payment and he gave you the Go Ahead then turned around to disconnect from you.

He might be in some sh!t position that makes him indisposed or unavailable to talk to you. He might be in prison or hospital or some other funny situation. However, I hope you get your 700k back cos that is not joke money this period.

Send the mail and be scammed the second time.

OP am smelling a potential scammer on your thread asking you to send an email. Mr drop an email why do you want OP to get in touch with you? may drop a mail kill you there.
