Congratulations to 39 year old Uzoma Chioma Asagwara who was yesterday appointed Heath Minister of Manitoba Region, Canada. She is also Deputy Prime Minister of the Region as well as an elected member of parliament. She holds the record as the first black person to elected into the Manitoba legislature

Wow I know this lady, congratulations to her and the entire family .

The people APC thought in their aloofness and futility that they would bury in Nigeria are now sprouting in Canada.

So when is an Anambra man going to be allowed to become a mayor in Abia, let alone a Kenyan becoming a commissioner in the SE??
We celebrate it when Nigerians take up political positions in other countries, but we would never allow people from other states to enjoy same privileges, let alone people from other countries. That smacks of low self-esteem.

Congratulations to all merit driven nations where even immigrants van thrive.

To all entitlement nations where this lady would have been reminded of her state of origin, a civil war that she did not participate in and the vote pattern in a lopsided election, the Lord help you

Human beings! When you do well, everyone will want to identify with you. But if you do evil, everyone runs away. grin

I like that she proudly bears Igbo name even though she identifies as a Canadian. Congratulations to her.

In Nigeria, she being from Umahia in Abia State, she will not get such appointment in Anambra State that is the same Igbo tribe.

That is the irony that is lost on Igbos who continue to celebrate that they are accepted in the Western world, but do not even accept themselves in similar fashion in their own Igboland.

It is a fact that even civil servants from Abia are sacked in Anambra state public service, while the Anambrarians in Abia public service are also sacked in return of the "favour".

Imagine such profiling within the same tribe celebrating foreign acceptance that is an anomaly within their own tribe.

*A Young Vibrant Daughter of Olokoro, Umuahia South LGA of Abia State makes waves in Canada; sworn in as new Health Minister and Deputy Premier* Uzoma Chioma Asagwara, 2nd daughter of her father makes waves in Canada, becomes the new Health Minister and Deputy Premier of the Province of Manitoba. She took her oaths of office on Wednesday. It's an epoch accomplishment as she broke the records of being the first black to achieve that position, having served out her Legislature tenure as the first black in that position In the Province of Manitoba and Canada
