YOU ARE NOT ''DOING YOUR BEST'' TO BUY NIGERIAN MADE GOODS.

WHAT DOES ''DOING YOUR BEST'' EVEN MEAN?

LIKE YOU ARE DOING NIGERIA A FAVOUR.

YOU SHOULD PROUDLY BUY NIGERIAN - MADE STUFF.

STOP PREFERRING ITALIAN SHOES TO NIGERIAN MADE.

YOU WILL SEE SOMEBODY WEARING NIGERIAN MADE SHOES, YOU WILL BE LAUGHING AT HIM.

CALLING HIM LOCAL CHAMPION.

BECAUSE OF YOUR MENTALITY, TRADERS HAVE TO LABEL THEIR STUFF ''MADE IN ITALY'', ''MADE IN GERMANY'', JUST TO GET YOU IDIOTS TO BUY.

YOUR WOMEN PREFER GUCCI BAGS TO NIGERIAN DESIGNED BAGS.

THAT MINDSET THAT NIGERIAN MADE IS INFERIOR MUST CHANGE, OR YOU CAN FORGET ABOUT NAIRA RISING IN VALIUE.

HOW WILL IT RISE?

This Naira rising was caused by the president you elected, not because people are not buying made in Nigeria…

They are just using your head..

All those their claims of importation are lies..

We don’t even import anything in Nigeria..

Don’t judge by what you see at Apapa port..

Deal with facts and numbers..

Check a breakdown of the value of everything Nigeria imports yearly, then compare with our population..

We are in country we’re less than %10 Nigerians own their personal cars..

Our imports is below normal..

What’s the highest price of the shoe in your worst one? If you even have shoe..

Apart from fuel, cars, tech and machines gulp a huge part of what we import…

Even clothes we don’t import it too much.. We’re the money to they by clothes.. May b apart from cheap Ok…Even many people can’t afford that now.

Oga calm down and learn this economics of a thing..

How many of our women?

May be just 5%.. Most own a few…

This our import thing is blown out of proportion..

I know you are among those that supported the planting of made in Nigeria rice..

What’s the price of rice today?

Nigeria is not a rice country, else we have to import rice from rice countries…

We shud have focused on palm, cashew, cocoa. That’s our own comparative advantage..

Majority of Nigerian states can’t grow rice, so we have to import it to supplement..

Same thing applies to fish, but not meat…

Most of the huge rivers are in the South and those rivers can’t give the nation all our fish demands.

All the Nigerian rice mills will totally collapse in the next 5 - 10-20 years…

Nigeria's import bill was 61 billion dollars in 2021, of which refined petroleum products accounted for just 11 billion dollars.

My point is the products we import are not what the average Nigerians consume directly regularly..

It’s fuel, chemicals, machines, etc that occupy most of our huge import list..

Other nations too import and they are doing very well.. Some even import more than us..

For eg: Majority of the wheat they import are used for their noodles, etc and not even bread and co..

We also import lot of our industrial equipments, etc..

Our import what ever is not 100% based on what average Nigerians consume.

I don’t know if you understand..

For eg how much is Nigeria spending on shoe importation yearly? Compared to petrol, chemicals, machines, etc..

I hope you know they add all those Dangote and co refinery equipment in our import list, etc..

If I am wrong correct me.

Go and check the list of things imported into Nigeria.. The most valuable ones are fuel, machines, raw materials, wheat and cars..

Most of our imports bills are industrial goods imported by big manufacturers like Dangote and co into the country..

We spend $3B dollars importing cars, this amount consist of all viechles in the country..

We also spend $3.something dollars importing wheat, most of this wheat are imported by the industrialist for manufacturing. Eg noodles, flour, etc.. It’s not the bread me n you eat that gulps that amount.

Another thing you should know is some of this equipment and raw materials are funded abroad, so don’t rely on our FX system..

Dangote and his bro n co are building refineries, so our import bill will go up..

Lots of industrial activities accured in the eastern part of th nation last year/this year and other parts of Nigeria..

Let me give you a clue: The factories we build in Nigeria, the more the Naira will slump..

You try to explain economics and the drivers of currency valuation to many of them, they abuse you and tell you when Jonathan was there dollar was this and that.

The truth is, many find the whole thing too complex to understand.

Tell them we need to move away from importing everything under the sun and try to produce more of what we eat and use locally...they abuse you huh

They just want naira to magically increase in value.

The previous government was spending over $1 billion per month to artificially keep the Naira's value high.

The current government came into power, saw that there was no money to continue that policy, and made the right decision not to subsidise the naira at such high cost.

After Buhari left, JP Morgan disclosed that Nigeria only had about $3 billion left, and not the $37 billion Emefiele and Buhari told Nigerians.

If you have $3billion, how are you going to be able to pay $12billion per year to keep naira 's value at around N500 to $1?

Borrow at least $9 billion annually just so we can import a lot of nonsense that are not essential?

If this current policy means a big reduction in importation of Brazilian/peruvian hair, great!. Or 30 different types of imported breakfast cereals, and all the other non-essential imports, fantastic!

Didn't we use to eat local food like yam, beans etc before going to school or work in the past. Why do we need ordinary cornflakes to be imported from all over the world?

Didn't women use to do traditional airstyles like Shuku, corn Row etc Those who need Oyinbo wig, Brazil air should go and buy dollars for N1500 or more at the black market. That's their personal business.

The government should focus exclusively on finding practical solutions to Nigeria 's long term problems and ignore noises about black market rate.
What of the SUV's bought by the Senate?
What of just using that money along with others to bring or refineries back to life?
What of opening ports all over the country so that Lagos can be deconested and fx can flow around the country?

The most dangerous snakes are those that camouflage. You think they have something meaningful to say only to get the shock of your life at their emptiness

We have Arab and Northern African countries who are not exporting much, yet they have a good economy and stable currency..

Try think, reason..

I’m not disputing the fact that exports will make our country grow and currency stable.. But in the case of Nigeria it won’t.. Because we still rely too much of foreign machines and raw materials used for manufacturing whatever..

So it’s almost a meaningless adventure….

Nigeria has the biggest economy in Africa not because we export crude.. We have massive investments in the manufacturing sector too..

And this massive investments drain our forex cos of the points I mentioned earlier..
