Iran cannot get involved directly and rightly so for their own good. It is same reason for weeks now, Hezbollah has been playing cat and mouse with Israel in the northern border. I'm sure in their risk assessment, an all out war with Israel now doesn't favour them and moreso for the people of Lebanon. Lebanon is at the brink of becoming a failed state so they may not enjoy the support of the ordinary people if they decide to bring more death upon them in the midst of their biting economic and political problems.
