So Tinubu is not planning on diversifying from Oil & Gas. All Nigerian leaders always promise to diversify from Oil & Gas, but when elected, all their economic agendas are tied to Oil & Gas production.

So if Niger Delta militants blow up NLNG plant and all the Oil Wells, what becomes Nigerias fate?

Waoh!
Using rumour of dollar inflow to scare sellers and BCDs.

That's the only trick left in their playbook.
AFRIEXIM is still looking for backers to fund the NNPC $3B oil repayment loan since August.

Now they're planning to use NLNG's annual dividends of $2B/yr to securitize a $7B loan.
They've not inked the deal yet, but are already pushing rhetoric.

When they're done expending the $10B.
Where will they get the money for future interventions?
After pledging our future earnings.
In fact, how will they be able to fund the budget?

Borrow to fund budget.
Borrow to intervene in the FX market.
Borrow to subsidize gasoline and electricity.

Anyway, they should bring the cheap dollars.

What were we not told in Buhari regime? What did we not hear?We were told that dollar would become degraded because there would be an alternative foreign exchange in Chinese currency called ,Yuan.Down the line what seemed to be a loud ovation wore out into a cacophony and receded to the dead end so much so that there was no mention of it again till calamitous Buhari made his inglorious exit leaving Nigerian economy beaten, battered and shredded.APC feeds and lives on propaganda and lies.

If they were trying to impress the masses they would not have removed petrol subsidy or floated the naira.

We now have the proper Yoruba hyping makers in Government.....

Why not wait first, do your implementation and when you see positive results you can now rejoice ....

A country running on consumption more than production can't sustain dollar strength to their currency...

That's why China was able to start their own production, even going to schools to introduce their language so that their goods and services can sell.....

Is the hyping not too much in Nigeria ?.....

Kindly do your research, subsidy is still been paid secretly, and as per floating the naira, it's has to do the the forces of demand and supply.

I really wonder who would applaud such moves at this time.
The basic translation is that the FG is about to pledge its dividend earnings for the next 10 to 15 years for cash to settle past forward contracts. So, there would be any impact on our real economy from this $7 billion if it even pulls through.

For context, in 2021, the dividend the FG received from NLNG was $722 million as published. And since then, we have been having issues with production levels. Taking $7b now from a bank means that FEC would not see any dividend from NLNG for the next 15 years; if you factor in the discount rate the bank would apply to make profit.

I don't really know why we like making thesame mistakes. We are yet to recover from the crude forward swap in the past administration that has dried up earning from crude oil for a few years after the end of the last administration, as a significant amount of our future crude products are still being used to settle that one. We now want to enter into another one. Not for infrastructure need, but to settle dollar forward contracts. undecided

Keep celebrating such abhorrent use of funds and very soon there would be no Oil n Gas money entering our consolidated revenue account for sharing at FEC.

That's a lie... But, keep telling yourself that. cheesy

Many have been supporting APC, Buhari, and Tinubu while wishing the nation well, but are suffering and dying of hunger.

I know many who have been doing the exact opposite and succeeding massively. I kid you not.

Same way many cursed and prayed evil upon Jonathan and Buhari, but those ones are balling and thriving.

Fx demand has always been there. Subsidy is not being paid 100%. Its a short term intervention not a policy. In any case, the masses are still complaining.

Coneheads and mediocrity. Naira has lost 40percent of its value since your ancestor came in through illegal means to rule us. Even if this $7bn is unlocked to clear Forex, naira will not fall below #1000 to a dollar. Buhari the dullard has done better than your balablu ancestor leaving Naira at about 400 before he left, but your balablu ancestor has created a new world record of dullards by taking the naira above 1000 mark. If shamelessness was a name, coneheads and agbadorians would wear it shamelessly on their foreheads, the same way you people proudly display your tiger claw marks on your scrawny faces. Gerraway

You are still hurting. The Jagaban is in charge, even Obi will eventually come to realize that some people are better at managing resources.

This is a very bad move. BAT is simply selling off Naija. Thats the bottom line.

They sold all the crude and Dangote cant get crude that start refinery. He cant import cheap crude from Russia because US got BAT balls.

Same scenario is going to play out In the LNG sector.

NLNG is the last of the cash cow, now revenue from it is off the table, who knows what other conditions will be the contract.

It is going to get very very very bad. You should japa now while you can.
