It is interesting to see that quite a few miles of the tunnel might have been constructed inside an open machine-excavated trench, so as to speed up the construction process by using cranes to lower the reinforcing tunnel sections into place, while also installing ventilation, and lighting infrastructure, following which bulldozers would simply bury the completed tunnel sections. This technique would maximize efficiency, and minimize time spent while eliminating most of the risk entailed in sending men underground to excavate and also transport those heavy concrete tunnel sections along the finished tunnel to the newly constructed sections.

Hamas is clearly a demonic and patently evil organization comprised of criminally insane sadistic murderers who don't deserve to live, but the engineering department of that terror group has truly mastered the art of warfare tunnel construction. One would presume that all such tunnels were marked during that visible construction phase by Israeli intelligence closely studying satellite imagery, so as to enhance the precision with which the task of destroying those tunnels and their occupants could proceed when the time was ripe, as it is now.
