you are right, students that held Obasanjo's representative to thier Convocation hostage that year I could remember. They expect him(Obasanjo) to attend so they can tell Mr president thier grief, Obasanjo dribbled them and sent a minister to attend, OAU students held the minister hostage asking Obasanjo to show up before they release Minister that year, OAU students are the reason why Obasanjo government bypass Lagos highway from Ile-ife town.

The problem is not whether or not people learn from it. People can learn from good or moderate news too. But you actively search for tragic news because you think it drives traffic, and will also bring you profit. That means you're profiting off of other peoples pain.
WORK NA WORK, so far, BAD NEWS is making To Be Well Known Inside Nigeria.

The fact some Nairalanders think this efcc sting operation is reasonable baffles me.
Nigeria is far away from developing soon.
Those supporting the nonsense are mainly those jealous mo*rons ,who sees every successful young man as fraudster. Same mo*rons see a fraudulent president as their personal lord and savior..

Such a banana republic.

So you just mass arrest, based on some unfounded "actionable intelligence" and release them when you like as if it's nothing.

What of the trauma you must have put their people through already.

Imagine the explanations some will owe their parents, loved ones and neighbours at home. Some may never be able to redeem their image again, once the word goes out they were among those arrested, albeit arbitrarily.

Really unfortunate.
you are not even talking of health condition of some students.
WORK NA WORK, so far, BAD NEWS is making To Be Well Known Inside Nigeria.
See, there is an aged long adage, "people will not but hear bad news, including a king, but never be the bearer/messenger of such news"
It is true yesterday, and will be true today.
I'm not one that would advise you to stop, time takes care of all things

What was the reason behind the kidnapping?

If EFCC was in a sane climate, by now they would have closed shop.

The kind of litigation it will receive eeh.

From parents/guidance

From hostel owners

From the school

But we are in an insane country with dumb judiciary and docile citizen

Exactly and the most surprising thing is that he is always proud of bringing the news. The thing always leaves me in shock someone being proud of always bringing bad news to the public hearing.

EFCC s name should be changed to have something to do with Yahoo or small boys because that seems like all they can do

They have been toothless bull dogs for a long time. They are just getting paid salaries with little show for it as the real cases have eluded them so they clout chase without any solid evidence and keep breaking doors of suspected internet fraudsters just to stay in the news. People wey Dey steal billions Dey their front but na people wey Dey fight over $100 and play betnaija Dey forecast odds dem Dey run after 🤣🤣

Imagine the embarrassment to the students without any apologies!!!
Their names are all over the internet if they try to apply for any international jobs. A click will bring their names out as being arrested for internet fraud.
