No, it can't.

And it's because Nigeria doesn't have an emergency passport. Nigeria has an emergency travel certificate, but not an emergency passport. Also, the emergency travel certificate is issued only for returning back to Nigeria (for cases such as lost passport, abduction, trafficking, etc).

It is customary for Western countries to have multiple categories of passports, and a citizen can have more than one category. For example, if you travel a lot for business, you can have a business passport and an ordinary passport. Or even two valid ordinary passports in case you are traveling to conflicting countries.

For example, Iran, Syria, and some countries in the Arab League will not let you inside their country if you have visited Israel before. So having two passports helps since you show the other passport that doesn't have Israeli stamps on entry to Iran for example.

These systems are easier to implement when a country knows its citizens and has a comprehensive security system in place. Nigeria doesn't know its citizens, and our nationality law is worthless. Any idiot who is black can enter NIS and get a passport. Just pay, and viola, you are a Nigerian.

So if your country doesn't even know you, how on earth will they have such in place? Nigerians still think they have a country lol grin

Stop comparing day and night. We're third world, ridden by corruption, incompetence and greed, if not, we too will be capable of it.
We are not third world, because being third implies a chance to climb up to first.

Nigeria is a stagnant world. Or like an imbaecile, it will grow older, with white hair, brown teeth, and smelly breath, but still an imbaecile. The third world is like a child, it is only a matter of time before it grows to maturity and becomes a responsible adult. Nigeria is not that.

I love Nigeria, but loving something/someone also means knowing it very well, and calling out its fault. Then we can change it. So please, Nigeria is not a third world, it's a stagnant world that will keep getting worse.

Until we tell ourselves the truth and change it.

How do we know it is true
In 2018, I got my passport within 9am-4am in Jos. Because I didn't pass through the official means. Meanwhile, Nigerians were languishing at the entrance, waiting to get. The usual response, no paper.

If u are asking if it's true, then I am surprised at your question.

Nigeria have something similar to this. You can only use it to renew your visa in the country you are before you fly back to Nigeria to collect the real one. The only issue is that, you cannot use it to travel to another country.
Yes, very possible... we have issue with collecting Passport faster because we have large number of people planning to japa...

In the US.. People don't line up from the Passport office to the express because they are waiting for Passport... some Americans don't even know the process of collecting a passport... so they have low turn up population requesting for passport... so that means.. it will be easy for the few dat need it

Also the US states has multiple passport office in just one states across the US... not like ours with one passport office for 1 states unlike lagos with 2
Lagos has four
1. Ikoyi
2. Alausa
3. Festac (not sure if it's still functional)
4. Ikeja

Passport missing in Nigeria?

You go first go write statements for police stations, you go “Roja” like 5k or 10bay before dem go give you paper and pen to write statements

After then you go carry the statements go passport office/embassy for official missing documents reports

The crown of people waiting to register for passport at the embassy/office go discourage you, you go just weak

When you finally have it reported and requested for a new one, dem go tell you say paper no Dey, until 4 months time, all in all it may take 6-12 months to have another passport

Naija I hail
Bros, you forgot to go to court to swear affidavit say you passport is missing and possibly Roger another 5k

Si lly excuse, that is what you gave there Mr Man.

Your excuse is invalid in a working/functional country.

Waec prints multiple question papers under a day.
Media houses print newspaper daily.
Banks open new account and give ATM cards in minutes.
NIN, BVN, INEC PVC were all processed under 24 hours.

Can you compare the number of people applying for passport to any of the examples I gave?
People wey get or applied or about to apply for Nigerian passport are far lesser than those that applied for NIN, BVN and INEC PVC when they were mandated newly or those that write WAEC, NECO, GCE examinations yearly.

So, your excuse is invalid.

The problem with those people is corruption coupled with incom petency.
They can produce a passport under 24 hours, at most 2 days, if they are transparent and serious with their jobs/works.

You guys are very du ll.

Always making excuse for incom petent people.

The main work has been done by those in charge of NIN.
Normally, if they are transparent with their job, the processing time from the moment the applicant did his/her capturing should be less than 24 hours or at most 2 days.

If all agency or service providers in Nigeria start giving such excuse that oto ndo(the guy you quoted) gave, I bet none will be functioning.
