Is there any shock that will passed the one he has done?
Fuel from 180 to 700 within 24hrs of his administration.
Dollar from 450 to 1300 within 3 months of his administration.
Poverty rate from 70million to 134million within 3 months.
500 naira foodstuffs is now 5000 naira.
Transport fare from 1500 to 6000(Jos-abuja).
Naval boat to presidential yacht.
What kind of surprised he will do that is more than this.

If that's what you wish yourself so be it because from all indications you are the enemy of Nigeria,Anybody that supports a known drug dealer to become president of Nigeria is purely an enemy of the country.

if a drug dealer is the president what legacies are we keeping for the future generations or do I need to tell you the impact on the morality of the society.
Mbok, simply say amen and move on since you know I'm enemy of Nigeria. No need for this inconsequential epistle.

I'll be honest, my confidence in the economic ability of this government to perform has started to wane. A lot of this is due to the CBN dilly dallying in tightening monetary policy. It needs to be far more hawkish regarding inflation.

This man's statement of the Naira hitting 500-600 to a dollar seems fantasy. If even achieved, it will create a big budget hole in thr government. A target of 800-850 is more plausible.

Frankly speaking, I see the Naira's long term value at between 1,000-1,150.

Lol. Maybe we will padawa curse Peter Obi for contesting by the time Tinubu is done with us. Man seems to know what he's doing. If anything, you had to give it to them for a well intended plan and steady execution. No wonder Peter Obi's team is dwelling on something that happened in 1973 as their strong point to tie PBAT down. They're simply jealous that man has been executing all the nice ideas they crammed for the EluPee movement during their campaigns

mrvitalis:
The small $10 billion loan going collect you done waste 30% trying to defend a currency

Like Peter Obi said Exchange rate is not any issue the economy would recalibrate with time... Stability of the exchange rate is the main issue

Peg naira at #1500 giving you great room to defend it

If you don't do this now naira next stop is 1800 the next one is 2350

At 1,500, inflation will be way out of control. I feel a rate between 850-950 will be fine for. Such a rate leaves the Naira undervalued, reducing demand for imports, while at the same time making it strong enough to import goods and services.

Do you know what's inflation?
Instability of the currency cause inflation not exchange rate... With a States currency without 18 months everything would stabilize

You don't have the money to keep naira below 1500

And once that shows more people would want more dollars which would increase exchange rate

Peg naira at 1500
Petrol at 1250 a litre
Minimum wage 95k

Pump $5 billion yearly to local manufacturers
Remove bottle neck from export, use diplomatic to sign the relevant agreements
Get SON equipment to standardize export

The resulting packaging industry alone can employ 1000s

Fasua who represented the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, at the event said: “For those who are speculating and praying and wishing that the currency would become nonsense, I believe that the policies are being rolled out by the central bank and the government that I serve, led by the President, will shock some of them.

This Fasua man is clearly at his wits end.

treesun:
“You need to listen to the agenda, the man himself (Tinubu) and you will see that the level at which he is thinking is far ahead of most of us.

^^^
undecided

This is false.

Where is this "agenda"?

Before getting into power, Fasua's principal did not respect Nigerians enough to spend two (or three) hours explaining his economic vision for this country. He dodged any kind of question and answer session that would have shown Nigerians the total emptiness of this man - an emptiness that has been deceptively marketed and sold to the eternally gullible as...genius. undecided He avoided the presidential debate stage because he knew his inadequacies would be fully exposed. Instead, he chose to go to a foreign country and "delegated" to others the duty of explaining his vision for Nigeria. undecided We can all see the awful results now.

So much for the "level of thinking" Fasua's fawning sycophancy refers to.

Nonsense.

treesun:
“You know, he has some very great ideas coming up. Some of them are what you’ve seen reversing the fall in the value of the naira, but he has also challenged us to review forward many of the targets, for example, the idea that Nigeria’s economy will get to a trillion dollars. He wants to achieve it by 2026.

^^^
Get to work. Managing an economy is more than exchange rate management (important as that is) and appreciation of the Naira over a couple of days isn't cause for wild celebration. Just get to work.

treesun:
“We have patriots running the economy right now. And naysayers have to be very, very afraid,” Fasua said.

^^^
undecided

This is what will eventually get you into trouble, Mr. Fasua. Stick to the economics and stay well clear of the politics. It isn't your job description to say who is (and who isn't) a patriot. Stick to the economics!

He should shock the economic hardship ravaging Nigeria first...

He should shock us by declining to spend billions on SUVs

Tinubu probably hates the billions for thr SUV's but he knows if does not cave in to their demands, they will frustrate him.

160bn is a small price to pay when trillions of Nairas are involved. With such constant bribes, he gets in return a rubber stamp senate

Mr eBola the magician went to borrow several million dollars abroad and pumped into the forex market to stop currency speculators. The little gain of the naira is nothing but a smokescreen. Will he keep borrowing foreign currency to save the naira?
