I'm concerned because I had the misfortune of being born in this country. While I have a dual citizenship, Nigeria is still my country and I have substantial investments in this shithole, and my investments are the reason I still return to the country, and currently in this country.
Lmao...sell whatever you have and buy dollars na...

Even if naira gets to 2000 to a dollar, it doesn't affect me. I'm only concerned because I still have friends in this country

You claim , you are concerned for your friends in Nigeria, but you secretly praying and wishing DOLLAR gets to 2000/$1, so that the dollars you have can appreciate

You careless about the hunger and inflation that will hit your friends when that happens... seriously YOUR FRIENDS needs to disown you ASAP

If I was earning in NGN, I would still hold in USD. USD holds value way more than NGN. This recent "appreciation" is short term and unsustainable. It's only a matter of a few months and NGN will return to it's actual market value of at least ₦1200/$. The fundamental reason for Dollar hitting ₦1200 has not been solved by the loan the government is using to "defend" NGN

Stockholm syndrome I guess. Cos I don't get how they would believe a loan would solve the underlying problem of scarcity. USD is scarce because we aren't earning enough of it. A loan just kicks the can of worms down the road. Dollar is still going to to depreciate to ₦1300 in a matter of months loan or not. What even infuriates me is that they took a loan for consumption! To buy cars and all other kinds of consumption for themselves. And some e-rats are running loose celebrating the "economic genius" of a Tribulation.
Lol @tribulation.

That's why they're sheep—they actually, really believe politicians. And worse still, they can repeat what the politicians said with conviction.

Or maybe they are paid to.

They are paid to. ₦30k a month for the foot soldiers I hear. May have been reviewed to ₦50k with the biting economy. $50 per month to parrot nonsense is the height of it if you ask me

Have you considered that the buying rate differs from the selling rate? In Nigeria, a significant portion of businesses heavily rely on dollars for procurement. Typically, more people buy dollars than sell them on a regular day, excluding any potential hoarding. So, what exactly are you saying bro?

The speculation that drove the dollar to N1,300 last week is the same speculation that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is leveraging to bring it down. By injecting a few bucks into the peer-to-peer (P2P) space, the value of USDT decreases slightly. When coupled with propaganda inducing panic, everyone rushes to sell, resulting in a surplus of supply over demand and a subsequent drop in price.

However, despite these fluctuations, businesses still require dollars that commercial banks are unable to fully provide. Let's not forget, emotions aside, that during the last election primaries, politicians didn't spend a single naira. They only converted money to naira when they needed to grease the palms of their puppets.

While these politicians may be a minority, they exert control over roughly 80% of the country's wealth and finances. Interestingly, they tend to hold their wealth in USD and USDT. The amount of USD/USDT in the hands of the general populace pales in comparison to the reserves amassed by these individuals in their vaults and wallets. It's quite amusing to think that this relatively small portion of foreign exchange could significantly impact the market over an extended period.

Regardless of any policies that may be implemented, until these influential figures decide to sell their dollars, nothing substantial is likely to change, my friend. So just rest bro.
