The problem about checking up on people is that they'll use emotional blackmail to bill the living hell out of you and make you feel like a villain if you don't give them money.

This is why most people find it very difficult to check up on people these days.

But most people in Nigeria assume once she has a husband and family, nothing like depression.

They may not know exactly when depression set in but they are aware that they have changed and need help. Let's not present depression as though some phantom that possesses an individual or something.
