You're correct. People were just thumbprint grateful LP without knowing who was the candidate because they wanted obi to have legislators to work with so he wouldn't be surrounded by opposition. If anyone had just gotten Labour ticket in a place filled with lots of Christians or southern people the chance of winning is high even without much campaign. Even in the north Labour won places with High Cristian population.

People just want a change and are scared to protect or cause violence hence they saw this election as opportunity.
