As a Nigerian living in South Africa, i can do nothing but watch our country fail.

I am not going to lie, i miss my home country so much, but i am so worried about the economic stabillity. With many people reporting that they do not earn a good salary, i am wondering how many years it will be before this country goes down the drain.

South Africa might be a xenophobic country(not everyone is xenophobic, my friends in za are not xenophobic). But its energy crisis is getting better, inflation is not as bad as Nigeria, and the currency is miles ahead in terms of stabillity.

This is not only limited to South Africa. Many countries in this continent are progressing significantly. Namibia(also lived there) has no load shedding and is expected to become a superpower in the next few years. Botswana, despite being landlocked, has one of the world's best currencies. And these are to name a few.

I wanted to move back to Nigeria a while ago, now i do not.

Tribalism has finished Nigeria, those who think that only them must rule, even with the worst candidates think they are doing me, they're doing themselves.

It is not only tribalism:

This is sad, sad news. Nigeria has the highest poverty rate in the world and the stupid government is doing nothing to alleviate the situation.

Examples:

Namibia has one of the highest english literacy rates in Africa. They spend the money on actual stuff that will help the people, not the other way round.

There is a reason why Namibia's roads are the best in Africa and are better than many developed countries.

Botswana's government does not bow to shady deals.

South Africa exports a lot, meanwhile we do not export crops that could bring us billions.

Ghana and Rwanda are shaming many developed countries at the moment.

So if Nigeria wants to improve, it should either adapt, or continue to be a nation run by dictators and tribalists and burn to the ground.

There is na reason why many people are going to other countries and stay there despite the consequences. They do not have to worry about a salary that is stolen from you(Because of unnessecary government spending).

Even in Saudi Arabia, despite some racism, the Nigerians there would rather stay there than return to Nigeria.

And our population should not be a hindrance. Indonesia has 273 million people and is one of the fastest developing countries in the world; just because it exports and not importing 80% of its materials.

Imagine... If we exported yam.. especially with all the intelligence benefits it brings, we could become Indonesia 2.0 tonight.

Don't you think helinues needs help? He has no life outside Nairaland. On top monthly stipends that's not enough to feed Seyi Tinubu's pets for a day.

You were offline or banned but switched to your other monickers? Can you do a day without Nairaland? Your existing depends on this platform. Those who employed you for this dirty job don't love you. They cannot even trust you.

Helinues you sleep and wake up on nairaland everyday. Get a job and leave your parents house. Your immediate younger sister has been crying that you want to be useless for life. Helinues pity your aged parents and get a life outside nairaland. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Bro, we better be grateful for having a meaningful life devoid of frustrations, Wailing, crying, trolling, teeth gnashing. Life is so hard for them hence always on frustrating mood.

I avoid his lots like a plague now.

Meaning it's not going well for you that's why you're always on every thread, morning till dawn, defending your 30k/month job.

I can't even wish my enemy, to be like you.
