He knew he rigged the 2023 election. Guess what? He even said it on the TV that he said they agreed to give first position to APC and second position to LP, then 3rd position to PDP in Rivers State presidential election. So, that guy is a fearless man who doesn't shy away from his crime.

You re right with the EFCC thing. Cos Tinubu would not allow EFCC touch wike.

However prosecuting fubara after impeachment would have indicted Wike, naturally.

End of the day, would have been a wild goose chase by Wike.

Wike realized his mistake and Fubara forgave him as his one time boss. Had Wike persisted with the crisis his level would have fallen to zero and many of his properties would be demolished or sealed by Government. The militant power of the State rests in Riverine area and the access to sea rests in Riverine area so they are more important to FG than Wike who is an Igbo man trying to cling on.

It has nothing to do with Tinubu or EFCC. Riverine people would have turned that state upside down. The lawmakers, their kids and anyone around them would have felt the heat so bad, that they had no other option than to back down, in other for peace to reign.

I think the bigger picture is a possible Wike vs Tinubu fallout. Wike still nurses a Presidential ambition and knows PDP offers him a better platform than APC to actualise it. Only time to actualise it is in 2027 as if he misses that window, it will take another 12 years before it comes back South, a long time to wait. Tinubu will surely seek a second term in 2027. So something will give.

I suspect Tinubu will push for Wike to join APC so he can better relegate his ambition within the party which is easier to accomplish. Wike will see through the bait and keep his options open. Things will become clearer in 2 years' time when 2027 noise gains momentum.

Tinubu can yet push for PDP to expel Wike so he becomes an orphan. Tinubu will also keep Fubara close so he can use him to pull the rug of Rivers State political control off Wike's feet. With Wike effectively orphaned, he can be isolated and his ambition checkmated. High stakes politics yet to come

The Riverine people are in total control of the firepower and more important economically to Nigeria whether you like to agree or not so FG will align with them any day. Like I wrote Fubara forgave and forgot everything for sake of their relationship and Wike has Awuse to thank for his timely intervention otherwise things would have escalated beyond repair. That Awuse was able to organize elders who defiled protocol to access Fubara is a feat only a wise man like him could have achieved.
