The Constitution says majority of valid votes AND 25% in at least 2/3 of the state.

You must fulfil both conditions, if not, a rerun for the 2 people that came closest to meeting this.

Incase if you don't know, know it from today. INEC rely on majority of valid votes cast. That 25% has no any use in Nigeria of today it's just there but has no any use because of that majority of votes cast that is there. Except the constitution is amended and majority of votes cast is deleted. Anytime you want to contest any political office make sure you have the majority of valid votes cast

Roughly I saw about 7K votes...seeing as people are only showing the votes for the main 3 parties, the total for the 3 was roughly 24kish....so it seems he barely just made the 25% there.

Just like Champions league group stage, with 10 points you are good to go. State elections is almost same as long as you can secure the highest votes. You can't without having over 25% in most LG.
