Liberia Presidential Run-off: Opposition's Boakai Maintains Slim Lead by Addme(op): 10:21am On Nov 17, 2023
Liberian opposition leader Joseph Boakai is holding a slight lead in a run-off election with 50.6% of the vote over President George Weah's 49.4% after tallied results from about 87% of polling stations, the West African country's elections commission said on Thursday.

Boakai and Weah emerged neck-and-neck from the first round of voting in October but below the 50% needed to secure an outright victory, leading to a run-off on Nov. 14.

The election has been widely seen as a test of support for former soccer star Weah, 57, who was criticised in his first term by the opposition and Liberia's international partners for not doing enough to tackle corruption.

Boakai, 78, who lost to Weah in the 2017 election, has campaigned on the need to rescue the nation from what he calls mismanagement by Weah's administration.

George Weah should better place a call across to the prolific Manhood Yakubu to assist him....

He is good at dribbling votes to your favour, can also create chance from Nowhere and make you get 1million votes even if your population is 500,000. That's how good he is.

That's what matters. Whether George Weah thing was just emotional support being a legend in Liberia.
Liberia even remains poorer than how he met it.

Election is like

*When you belong to a winning team the election is free and fair

*When your part loses it's rig and malpractice

*When APC lost the Osun/Edo election to PDP Dino turned himself into a Musician and praised the election process

*When he lost Kogi to APC the music changed.

It's like this in many parts of the world, there must be a winner and a loser.

If you don't win today you can win another day..... Stop the bitterness

Nigeria has to learn everything from all the countries of the world, including how to run a transparent election.

Perhaps the only thing other countries can learn from our leaders is how to loot their countries with reckless abandon!
