Gold, weapons, money, soldiers or slaves (human Life). I have always wondered why people are sometimes buried with gold in their coffin. Sometimes, others are buried with money stuffed in the casket. If the dead man is high ranking (kings, queens, fighters, and Nobel men) higher prices are required, like human life for their burial

In Metaphysical aspects, it's been proven there is a life after death and a price to pay for the journey. What is hard to understand is how much or how payments are made in the underworld.

Different cultures who never came in contact with each other for centuries turns out to have a similar practice all around the world.
In a novel, "Joys Of Motherhood", by Buchi Emecheta, it details how Chief Gbadi's dead wife Agunwa was buried with a slave unwilling to follow her master to the underworld.

In Igbo, there is a saying that goes thus,
“Onwu ama eze”. Death does not recognize or know a king. But when an Obi dies, according to funerary preparations, a human sacrifice must accompany the Obi in his burial.

Also among the Yoruba, kings at the point of demise aren't left alone their journey. Part of the requirements for funerary preparations is an "abobaku" or its equivalent. "Abobaku" means 'he who dies with the king'.

On a lighter note, let's assume the gatekeeper collects bitcoln or paypaI or even physical currency, payment will be easier if one decides to engage in a Suicide. But metaphysical reality is different.

At every point in life, from birth to death, a payment is required.

There must be a truth in all these practices.
The reason is this, money can be summoned metaphysically, although hard to sustain. Or let's say, from an African world view, wealth can be summoned spiritually and it's often time hard to sustain.

The gatekeeper must be paid. Perhaps this explains where wealth from the sprit world comes from (money rituals). The "gatekeepers wealth". So what happens at the point of death and you need to pay the gatekeeper? Can you use the gatekeepers wealth to pay him, or you'll have to pay more due to interest? Well this is from a financial point of view .

At the point of death, the deceased's passage into the afterlife is made more favorable with the payment of Gold, weapons, money, soldiers or slaves (human Life).

The practice of burying the dead with certain things for the journey after life is common in Greek, Roman and Near East / Middle (the Arabian Peninsula, Cyprus, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestinian territories, Syria, and Turkey)

In Greek, a burial practice in Ancient Greece known as Charon's Obol, the placement of a coin in the mouth or near the body of the dead as payment for Charon, the ferryman of the underworld, was widely present in Greek burials and has persisted into the modern era.

Charon conveyed souls across the river that divided the world of the living from the world of the dead.

I am curious, when a man is buried without gold or he dies at sea, or In a plane crash. What becomes of his journey?
Is he forced to reincarnate or become a ghost?

According to teachings communicated by "the departed" through mediums, there is nothing like payment through gold, money or slaves. The whole of their teachings can be summarize as "whatsoever you sow, you reap" and you can't buy your way through this law.

I hope when you mean mediums, you are not referring to all those fake scammers on fb claiming to speak to the dead. They are just hungry grin

Nope, I'm not referring to all those fake scammers on fb but to genuine mediums who are able to speak to the "dead" or have the dead speak through them.
