raumdeuter: I hope you are not interpreting the entire north for Muslims There is still Kaduna, Parts of Kano, Plateau, Adamawa, etc that are not radical like the Muslims. And that is why i said it is more of a foreigners believing that they have earned the right to represent themselves, rather than the hosts thinking they are doing them a favour If Nigerians in Texas grow to a large extent and start contesting for elective positions, would you say Texas people are now tolerant, or you have become large enough to earn a place on the table? If there are 30 Igbos on my street, and there are 3 Yorubas, are you saying the 3 are tolerant if one Igbo decides to contest for Street chairman? This thing is both ways, but they always look at it one sided here 4 Likes |

izzou: I am talking of the core North like Kano Katsina Sokoto Bauchi etc Foreigners believing they have earned the right depends on how the host body language is to you. You will find it easier to say you want to contest in USA and Australia than in Say Saudi or South African as a foreigner. For example an immigrant can dress how he likes wear hijab practice his culture and even take a speaker to shout death to America on the streets with minimal repercussions, can you try that in say Saudi wear what you want, practice your religion freely and shout death to Saudi. When we point examples of countries with immigrants holding posts its usually the same UK, US Australia France its rarely Uzbekistan Qatar, Iran Colombia Hungary If you dey Ibo community for Saudi or South Africa and say you wan contest na your people go first warn you not to put them in trouble Your example on the street the 30 Ibos will think of contesting because the environment is calm for them and not hostile. In places like Kano even if you are 30, and you want to contest or interfere in the political affairs its your own village people and fellow Ibos that will warn you that don't cause problems for the rest of us For example during my NYSC we could know those parts barely tolerated us and maybe because we have FG protection as corpers routinely our girls got stoned by small kids while adults looked on because they didn't cover their hair, Our LGA chairman will say he can only deal with (what name do you call the head of corpers in an LG) who is either moslem Northerner if you dont have in your set then anyone who can speak Hausa. So it wasn't a shock when I heard in 2011, that the LGA was one of those places where Corpers were killed during Buhari vs Jonathan elections Those places you mentioned too, they might not be Moslems they are also very radical, Its in Benue wey Idoma no fit rule as State governor imagine what will happen to Ibo contesting for Rep or LG chirman I will say West is where they take politics lightly he most, in some places it is literal life and death 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by raumdeuter: 4:43pm On Nov 19, 2023 |
izzou: In an immigrant journey contesting election even viewing center onile is the last thing on your list and will only happen when you have met more important goals like economic stability, security stability And some environments don't even afford you that peace of mind and sense of belonging dey make you think about contesting elections far from your home base It's likely to see a Nigerian contesting in Canada and Australia before they contest in South Africa despite having more Nigerians in South Africa. Why? 1 Like |

Ibime:igbos wants to claim everywhere with their arrogance, because of their belligerent attitude, Amayanabo of opobo reportedly banned igbo language in opobo, I pray a civil war happens in Nigeria, let's see how they will convince the so called igbo tribes in Rivers to identify with them. At the end of the day when you die, they take you to one of the 5 South East state for burial. Jaja is not even the sole founder of opubo, he migrated to opubo with some canoe houses In bonny, bonny has its root in Bayelsa. The land being inhabited by present day opubo belongs to Andoni, is Andoni also igbo? |

OkpaNsukkaisBae:what do you know about opubo? Are you aware that the land being occupied by opubo today belongs to Andoni? Is Andoni igbo? For your information, ijaws are the original owners of the lands being occupied by the 5 South East states since we all want to be mad 1 Like |

Amoto94: Even if these are true, these people took care to hide their origin and only took the identity of the place they planned to rule they spoke Hausa fluently their names looked like regular Hausa names and didn't diss Hausas at least in public Just like the rumors of Babangida being a Yoruba man which he never validated 1 Like |

Calling for civil war just to teach one tribe a lesson. Not all children are a blessing to their parents, some are actually a curse. No one should be this stupid when they are not mentally handicapped. 7 Likes 1 Share |

If there are many intelligent folks on Nairaland, people would have asked Otem to teach them the methods he used to document the histories, archeology and paleontology in his writings. But instead, the religious m.orons go dey fight and abuse am all day, instead of asking the guy key questions to know the veracity of his tons of claims. In a forum with many people that say silly things about a guy like Otem, it just shows many people there have a low IQ. Those people wey you mention no sabi much knowledge of history. Dem no even sabi their own history deeply (the history of their lineage), let alone the history of Nigeria. The person wey get plenty and deep histories of Nigeria and the world (deep histories, prehistory you can't find anywhere) no dey Nairaland again. When mumu people are supposed to ask important questions, na religion, "this one is God", "that one is God" dem dey shout all about daily. Kids that have nothing "upstairs". |

I'm not advocating for war to teach anybody a lesson, one group of people won't allow other people live in peace, they are everywhere trying to annex places that doesn't belong to them historically, you don't see edos trying to annex or claim some parts of bayelsa, Rivers and Delta state, even though some ethnic nationality from those state migrated from edo, you don't see people from other part of the country claiming to be the richest sub group, you claim to be the richest yet you criticize any government in power and disturb our cyber spaces, if you were truly rich, you'll be insulated from the high cost of living in Nigeria, just today I read funshos open letter on lagos expenditure, go to twitter, everyone regardless of their tribal affiliation condemned sanwo olu, still on Twitter, we read an open letter about ottis expenditure since he officially took up the seat as governor, you guys need to say how those group of people rose up in defense of otti, same otti is doing a 6km road for 30B, you should see different hare brained reasons justifying the construction of a 6km road for that sum, the hypocrisy is mind boggling, its becoming irritating, same way they called out a man couple of years ago on the Internet for his inepitude but today he's Jesus christ. You claim all Territory belongs to you, you know everyone's history, can you tell us where you originated from. 1 Like |
