⚡Russia said Wednesday a humanitarian emergency was unfolding at one of its checkpoints on the Artic border with Finland, where it said hundreds of migrants were stranded in freezing temperatures.

More than 500 asylum seekers have crossed from Russia to Finland since November, Finnish public broadcaster YLE says, mostly from Somalia, Syria, Yemen and Iraq.

Helsinki has accused Moscow of pushing them there deliberately, which Russia denies.

“There is a situation at the border with Finland, at the Salla checkpoint, which can be described as a humanitarian crisis,” the head of Russia’s Murmansk region bordering Finland, Andrey Chibis, said.

“About 300 people from more than 10 foreign countries have been waiting not for hours, but for days to cross the border,” he said.

He blamed Finland for not letting them in.

⚡The Italian Prime Minister said she was pleased with Vladimir Putin’s words about the need for peace in Ukraine.

Giorgia Meloni responded to the Russian President’s statement made at the G20 online summit.

“From what I heard that Russia wants to work for peace, I am satisfied,” the Italian Prime Minister said at a press conference following negotiations with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

Earlier, Vladimir Putin called the situation in Ukraine a tragedy. According to the head of State, it is necessary to look for ways to end hostilities as quickly as possible. However, as the president said at the G20 online summit, Kiev, not Moscow, refused to negotiate and closed its path to dialogue.

Protecting your nation from influx of people with dangerous extremist ideologies is not a bad thing.
yes i support every nation protecting her interest, but countries like USA, uk and the Europe don't get to choose who comes into their countries.
You can't wage war and destroy other people countries and complain about immigrants. When you bomb people countries you have to accept their immigrants regardless of if they come in legally or illegally,
If you don't want African immigrants then don't destabilise Africa, if you don't want Muslim immigrants then don't bomb the Middle east... Simple as that.

⚡Hungary’s Viktor Orbán threatens to blow up EU’s Ukraine policy, Politico reports.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is threatening to block all European Union aid for Ukraine, as well as the country’s future accession to the bloc, unless EU leaders agree to review their entire strategy of support for Kyiv.

He also asks why Europe should continue to support Ukraine at a time when the United States, which has provided the bulk of military aid for Kyiv, may not be able to continue funding due to partisan deadlock over future support.

And low-IQ Africans. In case you don't know, most of these rightwing nuts categorize Arabs as terrorists and blacks as highly fertile, low-IQ invaders bent on replacing and corrupting their superior genes. Expect more of our brothers to get stranded (or secretly killed) in the Mediterranean as they take over Europe

That said, it's not that I totally disagree with their logic even though it reeks of hypocrisy.

As inconvenient as it sounds, I cannot really blame them for wanting what's best for them. It's what I would do for myself too. If immigration of Africans favors them, let them take them in. If it doesn't, let them stop. Maybe that will force Africans to develop other ways of building their capacity instead of having this escapist mentality.

By the way, the low-IQ reference to Africans is false. Take America and Canada as example. One the most educated and successful immigrants there are Nigerians, second only to Indians. For instance, the population of Nigerian medical doctors and IT experts are substantial there and they contribute positively to the economy of those western nations.

Perhaps your idea of African immigration is the illegal route through Libya. That's not what immigration should be. That should be scrapped and stopped. There are legal dignified immigration routes Africans take to western nations and make positive contributions.

You're right.

I think they should have learnt their lesson and reduce or even stop their imperialist interference in other nations affairs.

That's why it's bad when it's weapons industry business leaders who are sponsoring presidential candidates and lobbying them while in power. They would always want war so their business can keep booming.

Hungary may block European aid to Ukraine.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has threatened that Budapest will block all aid to Ukraine from the European Union, as well as its entry into the EU, if Brussels does not reconsider its strategy for supporting Kyiv.

The head of the Hungarian government made this statement in a letter to the head of the European Council, Charles Michel.

“The European Council must assess the implementation and effectiveness of our current policy towards Ukraine, including the various assistance programmes,” Orban wrote.

In his opinion, there can be no decisions on financing Kyiv and the start of negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU, at least until the December meeting of union members in Brussels.

The Hungarian politician is perplexed why Europe should continue to support Kyiv if the United States can stop its assistance and asks about the strategic goals of this support.

“The European Council must have a frank and open discussion about the feasibility of the EU’s strategic goals in Ukraine,” Orban said categorically.

⚡Erdogan: “Israel is holding Europe hostage”

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan criticized Western countries for their position on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

“The shame of the Holocaust is practically holding European leaders hostage,” he said.

The Turkish president predicted that Israel and all those who support it would face “judgment before the conscience of mankind,” and accused European countries of cowardice that does not even allow the use of the phrase “ceasefire.”

“Western institutions and organizations, with the exception of one or two conscientious countries such as Spain, turned out to be completely deaf to the cries coming from Gaza,” Erdogan said indignantly.
