FreeStuffsNG:We know you're paid to defend the rot online, but try to be reasonable doing so. So, in your evaluation, OAU Ife, University of Benin, University of Uyo, UNIZIK, etc are "small universities"?!? You are too lazy to read and you jump in talking trash. |

It's those small universities that will be affected badly because some of their great lecturers will use the opportunity to move to prestigious universities with openings. Incidentally, this is not new thing. The only difference between then and now is that we now have a lot of tertiary institutions. Check my signature for free stuffs! |

With the Druggie destroying the value of naira, Nigerians will continue to run away from this country, leaving us with dregs of society who support the same political godfathers that oppress the people. |

Kind of old news There has always been a lecturer shortage in Nigerian universites for decades. Not enough lecturers, not enough space, not enough funding. OsunAmazon:The above is from 2008 First of all, I want to express my appreciation to ‘Seun for this message which came through my email box. He is the first commentator since this series started who has got a good grasp of what this focus on universities is all about. It is meant to be an interactive medium. Granted, I started it all by persuading VANGUARD that this is an abiding issue which requires everlasting attention by all stakeholders – which means virtually all adult Nigerians. Certainly, if you are not a student, you are a parent or grandparent or Uncle or Aunt of a university student. Perhaps you are a lecturer or the relative of a lecturer. One way or another our fates individually and as a nation are inextricably linked with the quality of our universities. It is not a personal crusade; it is a national endeavour which I have simply chosen to place on the national agenda for as long as we exist. The above is from 2013. Honestly, I don tire for these reports. It's like clockwork, they come at least once a year..lol. The fact is, there are too many students, too few lecturers. Poor funding means unis cannot employ more lectuers. |

If the lecturers are japaing as claimed in the report, then why aren’t the affected universities recruiting new lecturers to fill in the space. We have many PHD holders who are jobless looking for jobs. |
