with my own mentality landlord is always right, why is that
before i pay for a house i will check well and see am satisfied then i will pay, that means i have eradicate all forms of i pay landlord to do net before i pack in, e no do am. why will you pay for something not fully done. can you see people are their own problem

now i have pack in and i dont like one or two things about the house, then i will move out the next year

Tenants believe if they're given six months quit notice, they're free to live in the apartment rentfree till the duration elapses. How much did she stay without paying rent before finally moving out? The landlord must make sure she pays for every single damage caused, pay for the extra months she stayed then give her the caution fee. Insufferable people like these is why some of us are weary about building apartments for rent.

I have lived in an apartment where when I moved out, me, the landlord and his foreman inspected the apartment, when he say nothing was bad, he paid me back the caution fee in full and everyone left happy, if I had spoilt something, the fireman will access the damage and cost, and the money deducted from the caution and balance paid to me.

That's how is should be buy wicked and greedy landlords will want to bully you and steal your money.

There was also a case where my guy moved out of an apartment after staying for just 1yr, the landlord refused to pay, he jejely removed the heater and told the landlord if he does not refund the caution fee, he won't return the heater. Lamdlord carry police go arrest my guy, my guy papa na big time lawyer. At the end of the day, because there was an agreement that both landlord and tenant signed, landlord had to pay damages for the arrest plus the caution fee.

There is normal wear and tear on any material object, and these things are factored into normal expectations of use. However, security deposits are intended to cover specific costs, such as no rent, damage to the property, etc.

If none of these things happen, and the landlord does not honor the agreement to refund the money paid, then he is liable for breach.

Finally, how do you determine when the purported damage occurred, during the tenancy or after her money was stolen?. It is the landlord's word against hers. This is hearsay at best, as far as using the video as evidence.

Anger management is not cheap to imbibe.

The landlord may invoke the terms of the lease agreement and ask her to "put the property in it's original physical state" , then she will know if her Caution Fee will cover the damage she caused.

The safest thing would have been to take the landlord to the appropriate authorities. Court, Mediation Centre, Landlords Association, or even the community leaders.

Even if the landlord breached the agreement, you cannot take the laws into your own hand.

Nothing syays the same forever. Even if no one lives in the apartment, those wears and tears will still come up in due time. Leaky roofs cracks on walls and floor owing to poor construct skill or use of substandard materials are not the faults of the tenant. There is usually an agreeable time frame for carrying out ruutine maintenance on a property and it's the responsibility of the landlord to fix it.
What I oppose are cases of malicious damages to the property. If after inspection, the landlord observed that there are no cases of malicious damages he ought to have refunded the so called caution fee. But the greed of man won't allow them.
I had a similar case sometimes ago. 4 months to the expiration of my rent, I had to move to another town. I informed the landlady and to tell her to make a refund in the event that she rented off the apartment while my rent was still running. I also demanded for my caution fee of 35k. She told me bluntly she is not making any refund. That the purpose was for renovating the apartment after I move out. I was stunned. The following month someone else moved in. I called her. She said it was her house and she could do whatever she liked with. I should go and build mine if I want.
She may be right or wrong. It is the heartlessness of some house owners is repulsive.

That's how a landlord refused to refund my caution fee running into hundreds of dollars over 20 dollars damage. I told him he will vomit that money with serious pains. By the time I was done with what I programmed for him spiritually, he caught a very huge case and spent ten times what he owed me clearing himself.

He will never forget the day he tried to mess with a Nigerian. We are not playing.

Mine , there was no a damage. but still I haven't got the refund.

Last time they said, they would need till the end of the year to calculate the water cost, heating etc.. if there are extra cost incurred which needs to be deducted
