"Poverty striken Countries"...you may be right to an extent, but the french who ripped those African colonies of all their resources has been chased out. I believe if they have the interest of the masses at heart, they'll go places. Niger has Uranium, and I believe you know the importance of this rare element in nuclear power generation and other radioactive purposes. Gabon, Niger, Mali, Upper Volta are off the wings of their colonial masters, Ivory coast, Algeria and Senegalese need to take a bold step

None of those countries you mentioned are off anything.

You jump from France to become a Russian slave.

Can you compare companies owned by Chinese in Nigeria how they abuse humans?

It's a shame that Niger has uranium but can't handle or refine them just like Nigeria have oil, lithium etc but can't process them.

These coupist have not ideas of development, mark this posr we can come back here in 5 years and see if the lives of the people are better.

A serious lead don't just cease power, he outlines a clear direction with power.

It's easy to cease power, the problem is what to do with it?

Niger should first recall all their intellectuals from all over the world, ensure nobody will be intimidated.

Begin exploration and refinishing of uranium and the sell the value added product.

This current agreement they have with Russia is another slavery.

You can't have a country and then allow a foreign nation to come and help you build your infrastructure, this always comes at a cost.

You people often forget that it was the white man that came and draw a line in the sand and divide Africa...!!

The north is closely related to Niger Republic with cousins and uncles etc cutting across borders...!!

One Adamawa chief once said in a national forum that his domain cut across to Cameron and have their people their.

Learn history you block head won't...infact it was the white man's line in the sand that's is part of what is causing problem for Africa..!! separating sibling and amalgamating people who don't share similar culture amd values...!!

Historically these people share some common culture, values and history if you don't know...!!

Try, learn and know instead of swallowing hook, line and sinker what the white man tells you and coming online to comment like a retard without thinking or doing some research of your own.!!!

Funny you. Did you carefully read what is written up there and must you guys argue without insult.

I agree that they share historical culture, but there are differences socially, politically and in their respective history. The only thing we can easily point to that brings them together is their colonial experience.

I'm an historian for your info. Minored in it for my first degree and my course work for first and second degree is historical. So stfu. Learn to argue without insults

My brother it's better for them, how many African nations have benefited much from democracy, The one we practice in Africa is different from what white people gave to us. So democracy in Africa is all about stealing state resources and nothing will happen to the president
Plz what have enjoyed as a country since their independence?

Anambra is a Yoruba land according to history. A Yoruba man who founded Anambra went to market but he got a call that some visitors were waiting for him, on his way home, he saw a shop where they were selling bras and decided to get for his wife which took him longer than necessary. When he got home and they asked him why he returned late, he said *'àn ńá brà'* (meaning we were bargaining bra price) that's how they came up with the name, Anambra.

Shebi all of us are now historians, let's continue that way.

Me: I tell you. It was Ọọni Abewela who established Onitsha as a market town. He named it Oonirisha market but when his non Yoruba slaves, the Igbo wanted to pronounce it, they got it wrong and called it 'Onitsha'. It is time we claimed our heritage.

2. Alaafin Adegoolu established Enugu. He once married a strange but beautiful girl. He loved her so much because of her beauty. Her teeth was perfect, a reason why Alaafin used to refer to her as 'ẹnu gún rege' which was shortened to 'enugun'.

There was fight among Oloris and Alaafin did not want Enugun to be deformed due to fight so he sent her to his newly established farm settlement far in the East and even ordered people to join her there. When the new settlement was getting larger, people asked the Alaafin what name would the place be called. Alaafin replied that "let us name it after my wife Enugun." That is how the place was named and after a long time, it metamorphosed to Enugu.
