Nigeria had 1411 delegates.

The FG is being accused of sponsoring 590 to the tune of 880 million..

I am sure 1411 - 590 = some difference, shey?

Why go back to a list of 1411, pick names and start asking questions as if the issue was not that 590 was sponsored by the FG?

Did the FG sponsor 590 or not?

this is from the file

search out makinwa - then filter out the NGO that nominated her

https://www.iccdiafrica.org/

these are all the people from that particular NGO

International Climate Change Development Initiative

outside of the executive director, no one else who went is a Bonafide employee of the organization
or they do not appear on their website

they are all in unpaid advisory capacity

if i was to hazard a guess

a lot of nigerians simply used this as an opportunity to go on holiday to dubai - since it is now much harder to get a visa as a man under 40 or a young unaccompanied woman.

las las the director of the NGO will collect stray bullet for doing toke a favor. grin

as i have said repeatedly, the file is there for anyone to peruse and analyse.
grin

....Ẹ̀gbọ́n stop spreading lies, Toke is sponsored by FG, with our money. Stop defending indefensible. APC Supporters and gaslighting eh. LOL!

When they have danced and danced and gotten tired.

Simple question

User09:
It's clear to me that the Government didnt sponsor the entire Nigerian representatives.

As someone who knows how this sort of thing works, I'll wager that a significant portion were sponsored by private entities and NGO's; There's a lot of sustainability driven initiatives in Nigeria particularly in the private sector who are really keen on jumping on these sort of things

It's also clear that the govt doesnt want to release the entire list of sponsored to avoid the same kind of reaction we are witnessing; Could be in hundreds and the detractors would still have a fair point.

Transparency and disclosures usually help with things like this. Also all this cost being set against the potential benefits by the govt would go far in easing all the noise
Yea, and it's possible some of those person's while self-sponsored, were included in the FGs delegate list cause of potential visa issues. The truth of something like this could be in the middle.

Did the FG sponsor baddies and person's that had no business there? Yes.

Were all the person's there, though on the FG list sponsored by the FG? No.

Should be FG be traveling with and sponsoring an over-bloated delegate list given current economic
situation? No.

A proper disclosure by the FG would put things to bed.

That's APC supporters for you. The way these people have vowed to remain in love with the criminals killing the country dey shock me.

590 was sponsored...but they are bringing names of people that might sponsor themselves. Ofcourse we know that if you take out 590, there are still more than 590 names remaining in thT 1411, Of which those that purportedly sponsored themselves will be among.

The 880m wasted nko? Na to dey tell us say dangote sponsored himself to deflect from the main koko.

raumdeuter:
The world is shouting climate change and want Africa to play a role, so won't it make sense for us to attend and present to them what we need to be climate change compliant?

Help us with our debt then we can do climate change
Anybody taking u serious in this ur gaslighting mode most likely no get wetin he go use him time do. Because Tinubu's government has wasted hundreds of millions on Climate change conference now; u have suddenly turned an advocate of Climate Change. The same u who pulled shirt begin defend Tinubu's comments concerning non-prioritizing of climate change agenda few months ago (Not even up to a year). undecided

In ur posts below u kept on harping on Africans prioritizing hunger ahead of climate change. One would think the Tinubu u speak of will consider his people are hungry and suffering so he wouldn't spend as much as N880m on flight cost of delegate to a conference that should not be his priority as u posited earlier.

I guess u just come up with anything just to defend even positions that contradict ur initial position. smh

raumdeuter:
Most of them don't have the requisite knowledge, they just jump on the next buzz word without knowing what it entails

An African country worrying about climate change, Climate change wey China sef no send
raumdeuter:
There are many countries in the world that do not give a Bleep about climate change, Even Trump pulled the US out of climate change thing because it makes production expensive nd puts the US at a disadvantage while places like China wey no send climate change are able to produce cheaper
raumdeuter:
Even Trump as president disregarded climate change and pulled out of the climate change accord saying its making production more expensive in the US, putting US producers at a disadvantage and making China control global production

Do you know that climate change preach against using fossil fuel which is Nigerias main income earner. So Nigeria in order to do climate change should stop oil production and the money from it because the world will collapse one day

Who will finance our budget if we stop oil production and embrace climate change

US problems are different than Nigerias problem.

Biden that is championing climate change and move away from oil, after gas price increased, he started begging Saudi and Venezuela to increase production

You cannot kill yourself today because you are scared of death coming in 30yrs time
raumdeuter:
If Saudi is commited to it, let them stop fossil fuel production and use wind, solar and other non carbon sources

Na only person wey don feed himself dey think of climate in the future.

You have just garri to eat and someone is telling you not to eat it because it doesnt have nutrients for your the future
No be person wey eat and survive today go see the future

Climate change is not a major concern of an economy facing immediate hunger. Its for people wey don chop remain

Adhering to climate change needs is expensive in the near term and many struggling economies cannot comply without backing from richer countries
raumdeuter:
How much does this Nigerian activity contribute to the climate change or global warming? We are just 0.3% of the entire world, Don't we have more serious things to look at immediately?

We are hungry climate change things are not top of our priorities and are not things even we can fix. We are not the ones causing climate change

I could even help him. There's a bit of synergy between what he posited earlier and COP28.

All he has to do is talk about transition risks which Nigeria stands to be one of those severely impacted being an oil-dependent nation.

Making a case at these sort of summit is not unheard of

Everything is a game.
An opportunity to laugh.
If someone actually decides to hold you guys accountable for your actions then some of the people who know are good will still jump to their defence (me inclusive).

I mean look at the rubbish grown men who are fathers and husbands were doing here yesterday to defend rubbish and like itrsm said, 4yrs from now or even 8yrs sef this same people will come together and admit that it was all Bleep up like they admitted for buhari after he was done.

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 11:40am On Dec 04, 2023
How will the Nigeria promise change the lifestyle and hardship Nigerians are currently going through?

That is an entirely different thing. The first promise is hope and when you have hope, you know that progress is being made to attract others. Anybody who is talking about hardship now is not being realistic. Why? Nigeria is like a building or a house with multiple cracks for several years, but all we do is to patch the cracks with cement while more continue to widen. When a new buyer or new tenant comes and decides to bring down and rebuild the building so that it won’t collapse, in the process of rebuilding, people will not have shelter. Sun and rain will beat them and regardless of whatever arrangement they make as palliatives, it cannot be concrete enough to replace what this would have. The choice for the people is to say they prefer the house to continue cracking until it collapses on our heads or be ready to sacrifice to ensure that there is a proper foundation for the new building better than what we have ever put in place. What they need is to see that sincere effort that truly a new building is coming so that the sacrifice will make meaning. But if in the process, some people refuse to acknowledge the situation, and keep complaining, that is not realistic, because the other choice was to remain in that same building that was eventually going to collapse on their heads.

What about the casualties that would be consumed because of the rebuilding?

We would wish that there were no casualties, but even if, they cannot be compared to the one we would have had should the entire building be allowed to collapse?
https://www.nairaland.com/7930405/anyone-complaining-hardship-nigeria-not

Iamoyindamola, The DG of national orientation agency don talk say make una shut up and stop complaining about hardship. He say Tinubu na builder wey don decide to bring down the building to repair it; make una look for where to crash for now while Tinubu dey build dey go.

Maybe na dem Toke Makinwa dey help them hold tools like hammer, nails and trowel while baba dey build dey go grin
