Emeka Woke Resigns As Rivers State Commissioner Of Special Projects by Benwallt(m): 6:21pm On Dec 14, 2023
As the political crisis in Rivers state continues in its never-ending mutation, two State Executive Council (SEC) and loyalists of Nyesome Wike have announced their resignation from the Siminalayi Fubara government this afternoon.

The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Zachaus Adango, and that of Special Projects, Chief Emeka Woke, announced their decision Thursday afternoon in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

While Adango, whose letter of resignation is now a public document, pleaded personal reasons for his action, Woke’s letter is yet to be seen, nor has he made the reason for his resignation public.

Both are also members of the kitchen cabinet of the Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, whose disagreement with his political son, Fubara, is behind the political fire currently threatening to incinerate Rivers State.

They were also among the first commissioners appointed by Governor Fubara, who was believed to have made the appointments on Wike’s instructions.

Though none of them has in any way been mentioned in the ongoing crisis, it must not be unconnected to the expression of their loyalty to Wike, whom they served, for Emeka Woke eight years as Chief of Staff, Government House and Adango for a better half of the Wike’s eight years.

There's a strong indication that Wike has more supports than one can imagine, Because politicians and their accomplice don't resign in this Part of the world

History repeating itself!

Exactly how Ambode`s doom started!

Fubara will be dealt with ruthlessly!

He forgot that, No one goes head to head with an Ikwerre man and succeeds.

History will always repeat itself as long as human being refused to learn from history.

In Ambode's period, all the 57 LG and LCDA Chairman pledged allegiance to the party, All the Commissioners too pledged allegiance to the part, even Ambode's deputy openly said it was the party that appointed her. That was how he was stripped nakked at the market square.

Sim Fubara is going same way. Even his wife will soon leave him for Wike's camp.

Political side lookers on Nairaland are standing behind Fubara, but the real politicians playing the game in Rivers are leaving him one by one. Day go soon break for Rivers state

I doubt your assertion, Fubara has enough time to prepare himself for 2027 election if the supreme court rules in his favour

The kinda disgrace that awaits Fubara is thick.

They want to first of all strip him naked then isolate him before booting him out

Can Wike do worse than the late political godfather of Oyo state, Lamidi Adedibu who was king of political violence and controlled his base for half a century?

Fubara wasted a lot of time trying to fight back. These guys should have been fired before they resign from the very day Fubara had issues with Wike.

If he can control Rivers State for 50 years bearing in mind that the state has numerous ethnic groups not homogeneous like Oyo State. He is Ikwerre, why would the Ijaws, Opobos, Kalabaris, Ndonis, Etches. Ogbas, Egbemas, Ogonis, Elemes, etc want to take directions from him?

The Rivers State Commissioner for Special Projects, Chief Emeka Woke, has reportedly tendered his resignation from Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s cabinet, following the recent departure of Attorney General Zachaus Adango.

While Adango cited personal reasons for his exit, Woke’s resignation letter remains confidential and hasn’t been publicly released, per Nigerian Tribune.

This development comes amidst a bitter political rift between Governor Fubara and his predecessor and FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike. The rift has already led to the defection of 27 lawmakers from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

There are suggestions that Woke’s resignation could be a gesture of loyalty to Wike, whom he previously served.

The crisis in Rivers State heightened on Wednesday when the state government demolished the state legislative chamber.

The state Commissioner for Information and Communications, Joseph Johnson, in a statement on Wednesday, said the place was unsafe for human habitation because of the recent explosion and fire incident there.

Just before the demolition of the chamber, four lawmakers loyal to the state Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, led by factional Speaker, Edison Ehie, held a plenary at the Government House, Port Harcourt. They thereafter okayed the state budget, presented to them by Governor Fubara.
wetin dey pursue him commit Fubara government. The big sheriff is in town. No time to waste time here. Fubara is winning the war against his enemies in hard way. Niger delta politics is highly different from Southwest or Northern politics. In Niger delta, they stand with themselves in getting justice and tranquility in their political dealings. Fubara isn’t Ambode the clueless coward that was shivering on sighting Tinubu and his cronies in APC. Wike will be dealt with thoroughly. Karma will surely backfired. There are much experienced and qualified erudites people of rivers state that will occupy the position in some days time. Governor Fubara will send their names to the rivers state house of Assembly and they will be screened in the chamber.
