Roland17:While I am not arguing about the logic in what you have said, Man City is probably the only example you can give. I give you three clubs that had no benefit but played their very first eleven- Bayern, Madrid and Dortmund. There are more. Arteta gave opportunities to fringe players who may never have such opportunity again in their life time. That's enough for me. The youngies will get their time. |

Spy360:Smh... ![]() So does Arsenal have the squad depth those two teams have? If injury happens to Gabriel and Saliba is it Ben white and Kiwior we will be using to face teams like Aston Villa, Brighton, Newcastle, Brentford, West Ham, Loserpool, etc? I'm sure u know Bayern and Madrid don't have teams as competitive as the aforementioned in their respective leagues that will make it difficult for them to win their respective league trophies..... Later when the players burn out or get injured when the league is getting hot we will be blaming tough luck . |

Spy360:If you understand the logic then there should be no debate here. The youth academy set up in Germany stops at U-19 in comparison to U-21 in England. That means it should be easier for U21 academy products from England to get first team opportunities compared to Germany because they are more mature physically and ahead of the curve in comparison to U19. With that being said Tuchel has fully integrated Bynoe Gittens who transitioned from their U19 into the first team last year and has become a regular fixture. Who is Arteta developing or integrating from our academy? The Bundesliga have 18 teams in comparison to the 20 in the EPL. EPL teams play 4 extra games in comparison to the Bundesliga. I imagine you understand the implications. |

Roland17:Nwanne, like I said, I understand your logic and there is no debate. I would even easily take your side of reasoning in another forum. I agree that Arteta isn't doing enough to integrate youth players. What I wanted you to see is that, this is our first CL in almost a decade and many of our senior players have not had the experience. Players like Elneny, Nelson, Cedric, Ramsdale etc. These players were considered ahead of the youths in that dead rubber game. I cited Bayern and Madrid who have all players experienced in CL yet they played their first teams and ignored youth in their last games. While we would love to see youth against PSV, if I were the manager I would also love to see some loyal guys have some experience too. Theirs would be their last chance but the youth still have their best lives ahead. All I am saying (begging ) is, see reason. |

Spy360:Giving Fringe players minutes is not what I'm complaining about. Major players ought not to play at all. What is Gabriel and Saliba doing there? What's Odegaard and Declan playing for. And nothing concerns us concerns Bayern and Madrid. They'll always have a way to navigate in terms of injuries to key players. Can we?? |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 5:31pm On Dec 14, 2023 |
BlueRayDick:Most of our senior players were rested. What's your point? I was against starting Saliba and the Rice substitution. But then I am not the manager. May be those players demanded to play or they needed the fitness. |

| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 5:35pm On Dec 14, 2023 |
Jodera:I was personally angry seeing the players you mentioned on the line up. But then the manager may have his reasons. Knowing that he rested some players, may be he needed others to have more fitness or it's a strategic training regime, or it's the players that demanded to play, or may be he just hates losing and played a team that won't lose. Talking about losing, a win would have handed us an extra 2.9m dollars. All these factors play a role in choosing a line up. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 5:37pm On Dec 14, 2023 |
Jodera:Is it impossible that a player may have some personal reasons (like a beef or a contract clause) and demands to play? |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 5:47pm On Dec 14, 2023 |
Spy360:The excuse you're giving are Short-terminism excuse. The fitness excuse doesn't even hold water cos these guys have played averagely 3 Matches a week, for weeks. Na breakdown sef we dey reason not all these fitness reason. Roland talked about how Saliba season ended and when I read it, I was too shocked and angry to even react. Now he's doing same thing? What happens to priorities? These boys should and can play. At least 2. Nothing suppose concern us whether Bayern or Madrid used 1st eleven or not, na dem sabi. |

Arteta escapes disciplinary action... 'Joe Willock said the ball was already out of play'... Partey back in training... |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Lush100(m): 7:56pm On Dec 14, 2023 |
mostob:. Yes. Read it. But it was an unusual decision. Saying Spanish word for disgrace is bad luck. That ball was out of play jare. As for Partey good news hopes he does not go to AfCON. Also EPL now has the first female referee to officiate first game Dec 23. |

Lush100:The whole case is built on ego. The FA and the Ref association are well aware that they dumb bit just didn't want to accept their fault. Sadly, Partey will likely go for Afcon if fit. I don't see Arsenal holding him back without Ghana FA involving the authorities. The only way he is missing that tourney is if he is injured again (God forbid) I don't like the idea of female ref in football but we just have to accept it has come to stay. Female are more emotional than male. Make e no be like say Dem go dey favour the fine boys ![]() |

| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 5:25pm On Dec 15, 2023 |
Jodera:The error you are making is thinking that not playing saves a player from injury whereas the opposite is the case. Ask why Elneny suffered injury after few minutes of competitive football into the season? |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 9:12pm On Dec 15, 2023 |
Spy360:It doesn't saves a player from injury but at least it reduces the chances. Overworking can cause Injuries. Being away from action for so long can still cause injury (like elneny as you'll not be too match fit) My concern is on the former not the latter. If elneny get injury, who e epp? We don forget say him be arsenal player sef and it showed that day |

Who just saw Osimhen performance vs Cagliari? His headed goal and superlative assist to Kvara? For his header, this guy rises way way high than many tall defenders can attempt. He contracts CBs to tight spaces and enters between them to be scoring headers in between those tiny inches of space they leave. This drag in makes a lot of space for any of his teammates to get rebounds, which he will set up himself for almost instantly. 2nd goal, he dragged half the XI to himself in a brilliant move in the box. As for the injury smear campaign, it's not sticking. We need this 9. This will take half the burden of scoring from Saka and Nelli, and create immense space to exploit for the likes of Odegaard and Rice/Trossard and Kai. Osimhen vs Toney? Abegiii. |
