Kudos to all those who gave Lagos state the corrective measures. My own is that such measures must be really solid.

But sir...people are animals. Let us be real here. And if they dont show them pepper, they wont stop. Mark my words, some people will still go behind to still build inside the canals. Give it time sire. Animals are animals. The same people will start insulting Lagos and go on air to say erosion and flood are killing them and Lagos is doing nothing. They will certainly make videos, share them on social media platforms, and destroy the reputation of whoever is there.They are animals. So, this corrective measure may be in vain. This is my only concern.

I am not sure you read and understand the report. The notice still stands, govt is just giving them the option to take the responsibility. I pity anyone who goes ahead to buy such properties.

The era of when houses built on waterways will stand and cause flooding in Lagos is gone. They are still going down except they use this window to reduce their property or part of their property that encroach on the set backs and drainages. If they don't do it, LASG will.
