Goodday House, Thanks to everyone who continually share these experiences on this platform. Here to also share my timeline: Application submitted: 17 Aug 2023 Biometric done: 31st Aug 2023 Biometric updated: 3rd Oct 2023 PPR: 28th Nov 2023 However, I have not been able to submit my passport because I’m currently not in Nigeria. A friend suggested I send my passport down to nigeria to be submitted on my behalf but I do not feel it’s safe. My question is this, can I submit my passport at the VAC office in the country where I’m currently? Do I need to first inform them in Nigeria before doing so? Please I really need answers as I’m running out of time given the 30days to submit passport. Thanks! |

boluwagin: Use DHL to send ur passport to Abuja or Lagos depending where u did ur biometrics from the country u re currently in. Make sure u pay for the passport return so that after stamping, they will still return it back to where u re through courier. Congratulations 3 Likes |

boluwagin: You can submit at your current location. Check with the Canada visa office at your current location. Please do not try to send your passport via DHL to Nigeria 6 Likes |

MrALIVE: Ofcos yes. Again,,, you do not need a transit visa to Canada if you have only a single stop at Amsterdam. Send email to KML for more clarity |

msbaileyz:Depending on how long you're staying. If you're going on vacation alone, input 4000CAD. This will be enough to cater for unforeseen events, when in Canada, even if you're not going to spend all. My humble opinion. That 2k would only take care of your ticket. You may even pay more. 2 Likes |

Vinny102:What I said here was how I did that of my brother and it worked but if someone is saying is not the right thing then no probs. Sending ur passport through courier especially DHL is 100% safe and fast. But if u want to send to ur nearest vac, then good but u hv to pay cos it was not ur original place of biometrics. Good luck |

boluwagin: You can submit it over there, where you are. You can submit your passport for stamping at any Canada visa application center if your visa is approved and you received an email requesting your passport. But note that if your biometrics were not performed at the location where you plan to submit your passport for visa stamping, you will be charged a transmission fee. All you need to do now is to search for the Canada VFS in your current location and book an appointment for passport submission. 1 Like |

MrALIVE: Price of plane tickets depends on many factors, including: - How soon you’re planning to travel - The day of the week - Season - Plane tickets are always very high during the summer and Christmas. You can use priceline.com, skyscanner.com, Wakanow.com or any of the airline websites to check for prices. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

msbaileyz:your budget, you can add an extra 100/200 cad (2200 cad) to your budget, as funds available for travel etc, but they are requesting for money allocated for this particular travel. oh and you can double it as suggested above. just read it. |

msbaileyz: I have seen people who got their visas with an unbelievable amount in their bank accounts, but it is a big risk, especially if you don't have a good travel history. Also, the embassy uses the official rate, not the black market rate, for currency conversion. Your total trip cost of 2000 CAD is less than 1.2 million naira at today's official rate. On a good day, this amount cannot even get you round-trip plane tickets. I am not saying you can't get a visa with this amount, but it is very risky. All the best. |

Pamda1234:I am seriously interested in the airline that will charge 1.2 million for a round trip this period..I've checked on wakanow,no ticket is less than 2.2 million now. 1 Like |

Pamda1234: Don't misquote me. My advice was based on his budget for the visa application. He said he budgeted 2000 CAD, which is equivalent to less than 1.2 million naira at today’s official rate, and this money will cover the entire trip cost, including the plane ticket, shopping expenses, and other miscellaneous expenses. If you think that 2000 Canadian dollars, or 1.2 million naira, is OK, then I have no issues with that. A guy wrote on this forum that his visa was approved without submitting a bank statement. He said he submitted a letter from his company saying the company was sponsoring him to attend a conference, and the visa was approved. On this forum, I believe everyone is providing advice or recommendations based on their experiences; none of us are visa officers. 5 Likes |
