The Israeli military have said they "mistakenly" killed three Israeli hostages after mistakenly identifying them as a threat.

An IDF spokesperson said: "During combat in Shejaiya, the IDF mistakenly identified three Israeli hostages as a threat. As a result, the troops fired toward them and they were killed.

"During searches and checks in the area in which the incident occurred, a suspicion arose over the identities of the deceased.

"Their bodies were transferred to Israeli territory for examination, after which it was confirmed that they were three Israeli hostages."

Two of the hostages have been identified as:

Yotam Haim, who was kidnapped from Kibbutz Kfar Aza on 7 October;
Samer Talalka, who was kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Am also on 7 October.
The family of the third hostage have been notified and requested his name not be broadcast, the IDF statement said.

"The IDF expresses deep remorse over the tragic incident and sends the families its heartfelt condolences.

"Our national mission is to locate the missing and return all the hostages home."

It emphasised that the area is an "active combat zone" and fighting has been ongoing over the last few days.

"Immediate lessons from the event have been learned, which have been passed on to all IDF troops in the field," the statement said.

Fact of the matter is, the Israel Diaper Forces (IDF) mistook the 3 Israelis for unarmed Palestinian civilians.

IDF is so scared shitless that even when 3 of their own ran to them shirtless, carrying white flags and even spoke to them in Hebrew, they immediately gun them down. Thesame IDF , expected the world to believe their video/photo shoot of captured and half-naked "Hamas fighters" holding weapons few weeks ago, was indeed real. These cowards are used to killing anything unarmed that moves in Gaza. Can't say I blame them; killing unarmed civilians Is way easier than fighting Hamas in their underground tunnels

Israel is fast turning into a laughing stock as it continues to unravel its hitherto hidden military frailties to the global world in this present episodic war on gaza. After bombing and killing civilians, including its own people, the idf is seeking for an exit strategy. How can that be? Even its arch ally the us is fed up with the utter destruction of civilian targets and infrastructure without inflicting on hamas as much as a skin scratch. This is not to mention the restlessness and the seeming impatience of the israeli local population towards netanyahu. Those who insist that hamas has not diplomatically and psychologically won this war dont understand geopolitics.
