They are not indigenous languages. Yoruba is part of the languages spoken in USA

80 percent speak English at home.. the rest, mostly immigrants speak their native languages at home. Spanish is second.

the first civilisation began in Africa(Egypt) . White only know to improve and reject status quote faster than Africans and it shows in the development whereas other races and culture are slow to change process

They have a lot of indigenous/native tribes who speak a lot of different languages like Sioux, Choctaw, Algonquin, Apache, Commanche, Mimoc etc

The Story of how Nigeria came to have so many Languages is very interesting

Majority of the different Languages are in the Middle belt

What happened was that during the Fulani Jihad when the Jihadists raided a Tribe the survivors all Scattered in different directions but they still remembered the Original Location of their Homeland

By the time the British Colonial Masters defeated the Jihad and the Original Tribes people where later looking for themselves by going back to the original homeland they scattered from they

discovered that their Original Language had evolved into different Languages while they were isolated from each other in the different Locations where they fled to and had sought refuge

They have different ethnic groups too, just like Nigeria does. If you go to PA for instance, there you'd find the pensylvania dutch who speak their language. Go to California and you'd see a lot of people speaking Spanish. There are Indians, Japanese, Chinese too. Meanwhile, the common language remains English, as we also have in Nigeria.

Honestly, I was expecting the United States to top that list. There's no tribe in this world you wouldn't find residing permanently in the United States and same United States encourages nationals native dialects.

Except in Nigeria, none of these diverse ethnic and linguistic countries practices unitary government system of winner takes it all. That's why Nigeria is the most dysfunctional among these countries.

Immigrants not ethnics. Ethnic Americans of today speak English. A very small portion speak Spanish (but they understand English also)

This reason for the vast languages is because America is arguably the most sort out destination of several immigrants of different origins. Asians, Europeans, Caribbeans, Africans...etc. All migrate to the US in droves, bringing their culture and language with them.

Native Americans alone can account for more than 100 indigenous languages in the US. All the many native American tribes each speak a different language most times not mutually intelligible.

In the United States territory, native languages are not up to 20. That's if you add the 2 major languages of English and Spanish.

In everything "most" Nigeria always tops the list in Africa and comes either 2nd or 3rd in the world but we have never produced any good president that will make the economy better.

I am surprised that Papua New Guinea has the most languages, considering that their population is just 10 million.
