Nigeria Nominal GDP Massively Drops According To IMF, No Longer Giant Of Africa by TookDownYourMum: 10:28am On Dec 25, 2023 |
All of the three big countries of Africa has declined but it seems Egypt has finally overtaken Nigeria as the number one spot. I imagine under the four years of Tinubu economy, Nigeria GDP will be massively reduced to a state as poor as the western Sahelian countries. Nigeria - from $477Bn to $390Bn Egypt - $475Bn to $398Bn South Africa - $405Bn to $380Bn https://www.imf.org/external/datamapper/NGDPD@WEO/WEOWORLD/NGA |

South Africa will overtake Nigeria soon. We told them that economies are measured in GDP and not IGR but the economic illiterates don't want to learn. They are killing the economy with taxation and be celebrating IGR while the economy nosedives. 3 Likes |

Ogene001: And Igbo are the majority problems that encourage important rather than productivity. Igbo have done it again. I could remember when Obituary started the useless campaign "From consumer to producer" they quickly reminded him that he is one of the major importer of containers then he quickly drop the useless slogan Nigeria shall be great again 4 Likes 2 Shares |

EmperorCaesar:Facts are bitter. The last time Nigeria made any decent economic headway, igbos were in charge of the economy. Obasanjo and Jonathan knew what they saw before they chose igbos to anchor their economic Policy. When buhari came in, and removed igbos from key economic positions, the Nigerian economy sharply took a decline. Tinubu has continued with that line of policy. |

A country as corrupt and crooked as Nigeria never deserved the title in the first place. At least Egypt actually cares about their world standing and the well-being of their people unlike us. Of course we had a chance last election with Peter Obi but we f.ucked that up by electing a druglord as president. |

OPICANTO2223: I'm just amazed that this has happened twice. Last time we got a $509.9bn economy was in 2013 reaching its highest in 2014 ($574.2) only to slowly flunk until $375Bn in 2017. Every time we get to 500 billion, the Nigerian economy just plummets. We could of been a 1 trillion dollar economy AGES ago. |
