Life pre 1990 was limited, you only related with your immediate community... can you imagine that?
Obviously you don't have this shared reality, you can move along.

Everything about 90s still the best especially being a teen during that era. From music to lifestyle and general state of the nation.

gone are those good old days .We rushed to bus stop,bookshop etc and select one pali for N30/100 depend on quality/size.D

Internet happened.

Since the internet became more popular and widely used, physical season greetings and Christmas cards took the back seat and became less demanded. If you go to shops now, you'll hardly find them on shelves unlike in the past where they are the first things you site very close to the door when you enter a shop.

Since people can easily send e cards in a few seconds to their loved one and the fact that it saves time, stress and cost of going to deliver it by hand, they no longer see the need for it and this has also affected it's production.

Technologically induced change that also affected just Valentine, birthday and success cards.

People saying technology are totally wrong as these cards are still big things in many developed countries. I saw a lot of cards this year than I have ever seen.

Nigerians are usually quick to discard things when the newest things arise. Or probably they were not deeply our tradition which made them easy to discard.

I don’t think it’s technology , we still have Christmas cards in other part of the world
We have technology more early in other part of the world before nigeria and cards still exist
I feel it Nigerian value system that happened to cards

For example lovely flowers is not appreciated by Nigerian babe but still very much appreciated in other part of the world

Nigerian value system does not appreciate lovely cards either Christmas or birthday cards
