The Kinzhal and Kh-101 are two different missiles. They have different uses, and different advantages and disadvantages.

The Kinzhal is a hypersonic missile.

It is very fast and can't be countered (and in many cases, tracked) with current technology. And when the technology to counter it becomes available in the future, it has been programmed to use a combination of speed, maneuverability, and altitude to escape air defense systems. As such, it doesn’t need flares.

The Kh-101 on the other hand, is a subsonic missile.

It flies below the speed of sound and is way slower than a Kinzhal. As a result, it is built to fly closer to the ground, making it hard to detect and destroy. This is also its disadvantage since it is easier to shoot down once detected. So, it resorts to using flares to counter air defense missiles.

Ukraine has anti-ship missiles. Lots of them. It's called the Neptune. That's what they often use to attack Russian ships. It was what it used against the Moskva ship. Ukraine also uses these missiles in land attack roles to attack Russian targets inside Russian territory.

The "original" news channels that you watch have tweaked the news to make it appear as if Ukraine is a weakling that's only in the fight because it's being armed by the west. That is a big fat lie. Ukraine is armed by Ukraine. Western weapons are only used to replace damaged/destroyed/captured Ukrainian weapons.

Ukraine is unable to produce/repair weapons for most part because Russia destroyed the factories at the beginning of the war. This was why Russia fired a lot of missiles at the beginning of the war. It was destroying Ukraine's missiles, warehouses, jets, and ships.

Today, despite all the so-called western aid, the majority of artillery, tanks, armored vehicles, and even air defense systems used by Ukraine are Ukrainian and not western. That should tell you a lot.

One thing im certain of is, if the US decides to start active wars (deploying of troops not just funding) on various battle fronts simutenously they will suffer... All their enemies good and evil are coming together waiting to strike. their support for ukraine was a big economic burden from the start i remember a headline then said something "the US cannot afford to help ukraine" before the war started, it would be foolish for them to involve themselves with North korea and China. The US should seek stronger deplomatic actions this year. Rather than military actions because, they are weaker than they seem.
