President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has suspended Halima Shehu, the national coordinator of the National Social Investment Programme Agency, over financial misappropriation.

The development came barely two months after the Senate confirmed Shehu as the national coordinator of NSIPA.

With the suspension and investigation into the allegations, Dr Akindele Egbuwalo, the National N-POWER Program Manager, has been appointed in an acting capacity as NC/CEO pending the conclusion of the investigation.

.ng recalls that on October 12 2023, Tinubu approved the appointment of Shehu.

Why won't there be financial misappropriation... When u choose to share money by cash when there's account number and individual BVN.... They'll tell you not everyone has an account number... Tell people today that you'll be sharing money into bank accounts if they won't troop to banks to open accounts... U can tell people to get voters card but u can't tell dem to open bank accounts...
