Lagos is not 22million. Lagos is over 28million.

So Lagos state should stop developing, because of population? Overpopulation is an advantage not a disadvantage to Lagos.
A time will come, when some people won't be able to afford to live in certain areas in Lagos , they will be moving to badagry , Epe, ikorodu, Abule Egba or Ogun state. Which is also a advantage for Ogun state.
Since other states are too dumb to develop, their people should be coming to Lagos, and help us increase our IGR.

Are you seriously comparing the population of lagos, the birth rate and inward migration with 4 decades ago? The population of lagos in 1979 was 2.4m and the most recent population of lagos is officially 16.9 but more realistically 20m plus.

The official rate of naira to USD after one year of Jakande's was 0.5 naira to $1.

Yet pay tax you will be complaining. But you want pipe borne water. 😂😂😂

The population of Lagosians in the last census of 2006 was less than 10 million. What census data gave you 16.9 million Lagosians?

What was the revenue/budget from 1999 to 2007? Was it less than four times the amount for 1979 to 1983, after accounting for inflation/exchange rate changes, since 10 million people are four times 2.4 million people of 1979?

Taxes don’t really finance pipe borne water. It is paid for by the users.

Overall, what exactly is your own personal motivation for justifying rogues in government? What do you benefit from doing that

What are you saying? New York City with population of 8.5m has 3 major airports and other minion ones compared to Lagos of over 20m population.

Thank God you mentioned NYC as your example.

It's not the population that determines the provision of airports for a location. Rather, the flow of business activities, the prosperity of the inhabitants. MMA which is the foremost airport in Naija does not process as much air traffic as the airport in Jo'burg which does not have thee quarter of Lagos population.

Lagos already have three seaports: Apapa, TinCan and Lekki Deep Sea. And the fourth one will start next year, that's Badagry Deep Seaport along with Olokola Deep Seaport in Ondo, Rivers Deep Seaport and Akwa-Ibom Deep Seaport.
For the Airport, I think two is okay now.

While there is no reason why I should answer the last question, I believe that unjust and illogical criticism of a government only obscures the real issues to be addressed. Taking pot shots at government simply because you don't like the government is politics not rational economic thinking that it masquerades as.

Actionable criticism needs to be targeted. There are ministers and commissioners in place and those who sincerely seek the good of this country know those who are not working when comparing output to stated goals. You can download these goals from lagos state website. If in your book Sanwo Olu is not working, bully for you. But I can tell you that for every illogical criticism of any governor, you take the heat off from several non performing governors all of whom damage the very ecosystem of a workable federation.

I personally respect his efforts because I know that no government in the world is pure and non is sans contradictions. The skilful and the informed mind knows what is possible and what is not. It understands that there are times when illogical criticism only strengthens the hands of those seeking the very overthrow of any progress made.

Do Tinubu and his minions provide free education for ALL Lagos children since 1999 in the same way that Jakande and Awolowo did during their own progressive era

We don't rush projects in Lagos. Lagos has a master plan. If Sanwo-Olu can't finish a particular project, the next governor continues and delivers it. That's how we roll...

I agreed with you,for many Countries abroad, with less Population than that of Lagos, are far more with all these better Public Infrastructures and Amenities!
•Lagos State government is trying but more should come this year!
For instance- what happens to the 4th - Mainland Bridge?
- What Date is the Starting and when is it being Completed?
- Actually, Lagos State I' be having More Projects than any other States👇-
1.Lekki New Airport
2.Lekki Sea Port
3.Lekki Economic Development Growth- harbouring- Dangote Refineries, etc
4.Lekki Economic Development Hubs- for big and Small businesses, etc, Starts Ups,etc.
5-Lekki Roads Expansion ( at least 3- lanes each-( left and right) - to avoid the Apapa Wharf Road-jigsaw!

We must learn from our past errors- for a New Corridors of Road and Railway MUST be made in Lekki because of the Heavy Traffic along the Economic Power in that Zone.
• If the Place is not well Planned- in a few years,we would be experiencing the same logjams of Apapa Wharf, that everyone and everything becomes standstill because no expansion was made on time!

••Attention Governor Sanwo-Olu:
When will Lagos State get the Scholarship For the Students ready, even the 2023-and now we are in 2024?
God bless Lagos State Govt.
God bless Govnr Sanwo-Olu!

Many people in the island do not visit the mainland except when they want to use the airport

I would have thought Commissioner Omotosho should have done a comprehensive listing of ongoing projects to be completed. The 2 or 3 he mentioned did not do justice to the Lagos State Govt's efforts. For me, the following should be minimum infrastructure delivery targets. I am not including social and other human development projects.

1. Commence and push Lekki airport to 50% completion

2. Commence and push Fourth Mainland bridge to 30% completion

3. Complete the Lekki- Epe expressway rehabilitation. Complete Lekki regional road and push Lekki coastal road completion to 50%

4. Complete and start operating Red Line rail. Open up all the overpasses

5. Commence and push 2nd phase Blue Line rail to 50% completion

6. Complete feasibility and flag off 2 more rail lines as per masterplan

7. Complete the LASG part of the Lagos-Badagry expressway and collaborate with AfDB and FG to complete that entire stretch of road

8. Complete the Opebi-Mende-Ojota bypass road

9. Think through the rehabilitation of many major trunk roads that need facelift in Lagos - Oba Akran Avenue, Billingsway, MMA2-MMIA link road and so many others like them across the metropolis

10. Work with LGAs and LCDAs to deliver at least 500 internal roads

11. Start implementing Power strategy to generate, transmit and distribute power to Lagos as enabled by recent legislation

These are the minimum deliveries i expect. There are a lot more but prioritisation in the face of funding challenges is important.

4 functional airports for what? Even London has only two key airports - Heathrow and Gatwick, though Heathrow has 4 terminals.

Heathrow processes circa 75mln passengers per year. MMIA does about 7mln!!

We just need to optimize departures and arrival times better at MMIA. If the old terminal is brought back to life, MMIA T1 and T2 is okay for Lagos. Even the one in Lekki isn't really needed in my view. Governments just like to do big projects so they can steal money.

How many Nigerians really have N2mln to travel. A lot of the travel in the past 12 months has been one way travel for those japaing.

Soludo will deliver it after 23 years like Sanwo Olu delivered one small phase of the Lagos light rail 23 years after Tinubu secured World Bank interest in it.

Do you think that Anambra should also neglect basic services and utilities like free education and water/sanitation while delivering the light rail? Is that a sensible way to prioritise spending the people’s commonwealth

ok, you won
