So far as that security money is being given to govt, they will never allow peace to reign. For all we know Ngige might be one of the godfather of criminal gangs.
One can't trust any Nigerian politician these days. Na them dey beat you na them dey console you too.

He's talking 0.01% of the problem. You have security vote and all the state treasury but are incapable of enforcing state laws. Isn't that the headache to face? Ngige should be wiser but he also is avoiding truth for his personal political interests.

Ngige is a thief, he should shut up!
What he did in NSITF, MDA under his ministry is alarming. He should be probed.

GanagiBitrus:
The way this country is structured, all eyes are on the President & the Centre. Nobody holds the Governors accountable.

If we restructure to a True Federalism with greater devolution of powers to the States &where States are made to control their Resources, people will start holding their various States accountable.
You guys fail to consider basic facts. The state assemblies job is to hold the governor accountable. There's nothing stopping them from doing so under this Constitution. I have nothing against devolved powers but saying true federalism and resource control don't address that issue regarding state level politics.

An average Nigerian considers the fate of this country to be in the hands of the President. Hence whatever is happening in this country is blamed on Tinubu, Buhari & all the other Presidents. Nobody mentions the Governors.
#1. Why do you think it is so?

My comment only proffered a solution & way forward.
#2. Now what is your own solution & way forward?

The average Nigerian doesn't understand civics because they never took a course in school.

Hold you state level representative responsible? Nothing stops them passing laws on these subjects. I admit that's going to be difficult because Nigeria also has a beta male culture of being subservient to the executive.

I asked you to proffer practical solutions to Nigeria problem & you are telling me to "hold my state level representative responsible". huh

A practical solution would be passing a law that regarding how security votes are spent. That ensures that it's not wasted. Again that's done through the legislature just like the solutions you proffered.

That what all the governors should know. Security money votes isn't pocket money for them. They need to get to work and tighten the security of each of their states the more, especially those governors who are not doing anything in that aspect.. Secondly, Open grazing should be outlawed. Such backward inconducive barbaric practise has no place in this modern age/era.
