Paid employment guarantees financial security - a constant source, a reservoir. FX would not pay every week but paid employment does, even when I'm ill - I would still get a constant biweekly pay of EI - Employment Insurance from the government; but, you have to be employed to qualify. Many more reasons why a career outside FX is top-notch.

While bills would never cease, fx biweekly profit would definitely cease at one point or the other; when this happens, what would you do in those weeks or months? frustrated? overleverage? overtrading? martingale? ignore SL? zero psychology? go into debt? depression? etc

I once quit my job (back in 2021) to depend only on fx but I could not stand it cos I'm not the only one in the family - I had to return. However, there is a career level I plan to attain to call it quit. But even at that, I would still go into paid employment but a much more flexible one where I can place my laptop on my workplace table with fx charts all over the place.

Just this morning, I found out Infinityforexfunds provided a 24hr 50% price reduction promo, I had to grab three $100K (attached). I'm waiting for fundednext's New year promo, and I should grab about 3 more from them, and then fundedengineer ish. By 2024 end, I should have at least a $1M funded account.

Plan: Each account will be solely dedicated to 2 instruments. e.g. acc1 for US30, GBPUSD. acc2 = Gold, GBPNZD, acc3 = Silver, GBPAUD. etc.

Meanwhile, I advise FTA to look deep into Infinityforexfunds, if you have any questions, bring it on!

Those trades were 0.4 lot each - silver (see attached). The lot you saw were closed trades, 5.4 total, 5.0 for usoil and 0.4 for silver. the way usoil lot is calculated is different from silver or gold and that is why you use 5.0 not 0.5

The bolded is exactly my current situation. My paid job is hybrid and super flexible. I have work station set up in my basement, with personal laptop on the side to continue learning fx, monitoring charts and trading demos for now. I do this all day and have been on the routine for almost 2 months now.

I dey wait for mega promo to hop on tradingview; as a wannabe ICT/dr&idr trader; I usually take mental notes of market sessions, session overlaps, macros, KZ etc. before I draw my clumsy chicken-scratch chart on Mt5..so here is wat I think is the answer to your question.
But first the time convertion this way is wrong;

tradingview is converted automatically to my time zone.
10pm - 6am GMT +1 on tradingview is 12am - 8am GMT +3 on metatrader

Mt5 for now is GMT+1 ahead of nigerian time; if we are in 2.30pm in your house clock, then your mapping shld be 3:30pm in Mt5: you don't go looking for 2:30 in your Mt5, your focus should be on 3:30 in Mt5 in synchronization to your house clock time. Since tradingview already adjusted to your local time; which is 10pm - 6am GMT +1 on tradingview, you should put both TDV & Mt5 on m5 chart for instance;


Asian Range = (10pm to 6am NGN local time which same as your tradingview) should be in sync with (Asian Range = 11:00pm to 7am on Mt5) while on your Mt5; look for the high and low within this time range and do your markups from there

Nothing beats testing the theory live on the market on demo or on a small acct and seeing the outcome

Unless you are using some sort of special indicators or chart, then tradingview or metatrader will be enough for your backtesting

If you are trading price action, your backtesting may be useless if you don't do it properly. I'll.explain what I've noticed on 4h chart...

1.Double tops at key zones could lead to breakouts to the upside or downtrends back to the zone
2. Engulfing or big bearish bars could lead to trend continuation downwards or it could lead to a range that tests the high of that bar

It is impossible to predict either of these two outcomes accurately by merely looking at 4h charts. However, by identifying the signal on 4h and going down to the 30 min or 1hr chart, you can gain more understanding of the situation.

A strong bearish move on 4h but market being flat on 30 min at a key buy zone on daily and at around 2pm chart has more likelihood of being an uptrend than you think no matter how ugly it looks. ...(eurusd chart on dec 13 is a good example of this)

If you must backtest, the one thing that I think is useful is looking at how market behaves around 5am-9 am chart and towards the close of day and picking out best times of day to trade based on this information.

All accounts are breathing and alive...
Some in phase 1 while some in phase 2...

I stopped trading all my accounts since October and decided to review my strategy and focus on boss infofirst competition....
