If there's anything that sums up the commandments of God, it is LOVE.
Love for your family members, your friends, your enemies and those who spitefully use you including your politicians.

If you want to be sure that you are obeying God fully, show love to everyone and pray for them to be better people irrespective of creed, affiliation, religion, character etc.

Yes The Bible and Jesus Christ preached Love
But Jesus Christ still recognized Herod that Beheaded John the Baptist and Still called Herod a Fox Luke 13:32

When Jesus Christ was brought before Herod he didn't give him any Response and why should he Herod had just beheaded John the Baptist who was Christ's Messenger and you are now asking questions that John the Baptist had already answered for you when you slammed him in Jail.Luke 23:6-12

"You are not worth replying Herod
Let me save my energy for the Cross"
I am just imagining what Christ was Thinking

Jesus Christ recognized Herod for who he was
Herod's Predecessor had ordered the Slaughter of all the Male babies less that 2 years old in Bethlehem in his attempt to kill Christ

This Herod Beheaded John the Baptist

I am not thinking about Tinubu with this example it is people like Adolph Hitler.i am referring to, Christians had a duty to oppose him and what he stood for

Acts 4:19-20 New Century Version (NCV)
But Peter and John answered them, “You decide what God would want. Should we obey you or God? We cannot keep quiet. We must speak about what we have seen and heard.”

German Evangelical Christians thought Hitler was the Anti-Christ when he first turned up

Matt.5.44 - But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,

Matt.5.45 - that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

Matt.5.46 - For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?

Matt.5.47 - And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so?

Matt.5.48 - Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

Loving Tinubu also means loving Jonathan, Buhari or any other person. There is no discrimination with the love of God.

You people and religion sef. The same Jesus that use cane to pursue people buying and selling in the temple, was he showing them love that time. Or when he called out the Pharisees as vile and treacherous, was he speaking from a place of love.

Jesus like every other human being wanted to 'agend' so he came up with all these love unconditionally and turn the other cheek bullshit to sell his market.

Not so Sir.
That you love someone doesn't mean you won't correct them or tell them the truth. A father that punishes a child for wrong doing, would you say he doesn't love the child?

God is extremely merciful but He is also just. What you do is what you get that is why He has done and is still doing everything to ensure we don't suffer the punishment for our rebellion.

He has no pleasure in seeing us suffer whether in the now or after life. 2Pet.3.9 - The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
1Thess.5.9 - For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

God is merciful and Just. Your actions determine what you get.

if He is just and "what you get is what you deserve" then he is not all loving. The idealistic notion of love means it to be unconditional.

He wouldn't want us to suffer as you said yet he puts us in the frontline where we are prone to disobeying him, Ill-equipped and with gazillion pitfalls.

Why would he bring us over to this plane in the first place. Not like we were complaining where we where.

The Love of God like any gift has to be accepted.

Why we are here in my opinion shouldn't bother you right now (the gist into that is a big one) , instead how you can please God to intervene in your case to your favour should be your goal.

It's not easy, no doubt but you and I can do it with Him on our side.

This is debatable as some of us wouldn't accept the gift of life in the first place. It was imposed on us by your loving god knowing that the gift comes with so many troubles and challenges and that he will be just and give you what you deserve if you feck up. Knowing fully well that you are ill-equipped to handle the said gift.

Come off it this conversation is not worth it. The Christian god you are portraying to be good is a sadistic monster.

Take note:

So many of us are so concerned with feeding ourselves with physical food. It's fine o, but try to also feed your spirit.

Some of us, our spirits are starving and we don't even know.

PLEASE FEED YOUR SPIRIT.

The way to feed your spirit is by studying the word of God frequently and then thinking about what you studied (meditation) as much as possible.

God has said we should do so but we often ignore:

Josh.1.8 - This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Ps.1.2 - But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night.

Repent of your sins. Don't say you weren't told.

God loves you.

You are right on the Bible saying we shouldn't commit idolatry but you are wrong on saying I worship anyone outside God.

We are meant to love one another irrespective of political affiliation or any other reason.
