An honorary doctorate is quite different from an academic PhD. The institutions honor such individuals not that they bag a PhD degree from the institutions

So surprised our government eyes are just opened to this. Many of my colleagues from the north attended some of this schools and you hardly believe they graduated from University. They can't read or either write. There spoken English are so poor because some of this countries are not English spoken country.

Apart from Aura Starr the rest have honorary degrees which is more like an award. It doesn't require results.

Sometime ago, A lady in my Neighborhood testified in church of getting admission for Bsc Accounting into one of these universities and relocated to her school. 9 months later as I was going through my Facebook page I saw her holding her bachelor's degree and celebrating her graduation with other graduands claiming how God has been good to hear.
She has been in my neck for job connections and urgent 2k ever since. I do give her urgent 2k. But job I will never recommend her to anyone.

Remove the honorary degrees, it doesn't require any investigation

The truth be told, certificates from those institutions can not be trusted. In Nigeria, any institution running programmes below the actual duration should be investigated, as there are no short cuts to success in life. There are many universities in Nigeria too awarding certificates that students don't work for. When u come with equity, it must be with clean hands. What will one say of a 2 or 3 unit course being handled by a lecturer who's busy with other engagements, thereby sparingly touching few topics, awarding 30/30 marks to students in their continuous assessment and giving students AOC for the exams?
Many lecturers barely cover half of their syllabus for a semester.

You need to know that there are criteria to be conferred with a honorary doctorate. As per excellence in one's field/profession, suffice to say that success is relative and we can argue that Zazu, Zlatan Ibile, Olamide, Phyno, Asake et al are all successful in their field. Can these individuals be conferred with honorary doctorate as well, why do we enjoy making mockery of valuable things in this part of the world?

It's not just to succeed in your craft and make money by organising shows&concerts or rolling out home videos every quarter of the year, but by the positive impact to the development or promotion of the craft/profession/society/cause.

The questions to ask are: What researches have these people carried out on their craft and in what further ways have they developed it.
What kind of influence does their work have on the society, does it support any cause?

Many questions begging for answers!
