I just thought of something

Can we relieve Saka from Corner kick duties and make him be actually part of those jostling for a header in the box?

Reason being that he will easily win fouls that will lead to pk(since last season he's top 2 winners)

He may also start getting more goals in the long run. Either this or he rotates it.

Lol... I don't think this is feasible. For one, the few times we cross(during open play), how many times have he actually competed for headers?
When Martinelli or Trossard crosses from the opposite side, how many times have he scored header through corners?

Besides, our corner tactics is even bad sef(I've complained about it more than once this season)

My advise for this little tweak is that let Arteta switch both of them. Maybe during counter, it'll make Saka and Martinelli take a one time shot instead of looking for a cut in and shoot (something even a 5yr old boy already know will happen). And also, their crossing will be effective cos it'll be a low drive cross with their stronger foot instead of a cut and inswing cross. Faster decision making process to me.

We need something different!!

Do you want us to go by goals per min? Will you change your stance if Giroud matches RVP?
You know you are not honest with your assessment. Are we comparing their best season or their entire Arsenal career as a whole? because twice Van Persie scored just 5goals in a season.
Like I said, I don’t judge a player based on stats cause it can make a bum look world class.

So a quick question, are you in anyway insinuating that RVP and Giroud are at par or Giroud is better?

Jodera:
You don't get it?
The first thing people rate Midfielder are your ability to control, be creative and dictate tempo. Saying they're at par in goals is you not saying anything if he still ghosts in midfield when he's suppose to be creative, control Midfield and bring stability.
Nobody likes wannabe McTom kinda performance

Odegaard for example in the season we finished 5th scored only league goals if I'm not mistaken but guys here was already happy for what he brings.

My point is that don't be clever by half.

Is Havertz better than Xhaka so far?
Yes or No?

There are many midfielders whose specialty is goals. From Lampard to Ward-Prose to Wijnaldum. Some do not even contribute significantly to control. Their job is to make a late run into scoring positions. I know that Wenger wanted Ramsey to grow into that kind of player. Meaning that goals can still be a yardstick to judge midfielders.

That said, there's what is called self delusion. That is someone trying to convince himself of what he knows is not true. What is not true here is that I said Havertz is a better player than Xhaka. When I have already said that though they are at par on goals but Xhaka gives more control. You are now free to believe what you want.

The one he won outside the box, how many were given as fouls. I recently watched the clip of fouls won by saka. The two most painful to me were those malicious kicks by Cucurella and Milner. Like, they left the ball entirely and kicked him hard yet none of the two were penalized.

Lmaooo, You don't know what you're talking about if you think Lampard is all about Goals. Someone that have one of the best passing range and vision is whom you say is all about Goals?
Na now I really confirm say you be stats master grin

As for ward-prowse. There's a reason why he's not a highly rated Midfielder aside his deadballs specialty. Like I said as usual, keep on watching Livescores iyeh .

You can call it self delusion but na only person wey dey watch stats will make its first point of call to grade a Cm/Am with goals instead of the creativity and balance they bring in midfield.

Stay there make pant they wear you. Ward-Prowse is highly rated that's why West Ham signed him and that's why he is a main stay in their midfield and that's because of what he is special at.

Some midfielders are good at one thing or the other. Some passing, some tackling, some pressing, some goals. What ever it is will sell that player. Therefore when midfielders are being graded, we don't only look at passing or tackling, we can also look at goal contributions. In fact that was one of the things Arteta added to make Xhaka a fan favourite.

Like I said, dey there make pant dey wear you 😁😁😁

Who "highly rate" ward prowse? cheesy

Yes, he is so highly rated that no big team considered him and even his nation never considered him even when they're calling his teammates. He is so highly rated that a big team called "West Ham" who nearly relegated last season bought him from his own relegated club at the age of "29".
Yeah .. Make pant deh wear me grin

To you to think lampard is known for only goals deh muse me. Try watch lampard game live(not livescores pls grin) and you'll know he'll still be a highly rated Midfielder even without that amount of goals.

And please, it's not only goals that made Xhaka a highly rated Midfielder to us arsenal fans. Two seasons ago when he scored only 4 goals, (when arteta advanced him as an LAM), he was loved as we could see he was influencing games as never before. Even last season, before he scored that 2 dead rubber goals in the last match, he was also one of Arsenal favourite with 5 goals(prior to the last match). So no, goals was not the main criteria on why arsenal loved Xhaka before he left.

I will answer you straight with patience.

First of all, I am not arguing Giroud Vs RVP.

Secondly I have never said Giroud is better. I'd be stupid to do that.

Thirdly what I am arguing is if Giroud was 'very
very average' for Arsenal according to Jodera. (Please note that by saying very very average' it a kind way of saying useless)

To buttress my point I compared his years with us to that of other strikers. (Jodera and co only hooked on to RVP simply because it was a cheap score. That's because RVP was not the only striker I brought up, I also brought up Adebayor and Lacazette)

My point is that given that Giroud has a G/G of 0.42 close to RVP 0.47 or Adebayor 0.43. We cannot emphatically say that he was useless unless we also want to say that RVP and Adebayor are useless.

Any argument should have been against Giroud not for RVP. For example they could have argued that Giroud did not contribute much to assists or that Giroud never instilled confidence in his teammates. That's OK. There was no need to start arguing in favour of RVP because that is not the purpose in the first place.

I hope?

I don't know the sense behind that corner.
I mean, we play our corner at the near post where it's even the zone of opposition defenders. EPL defenders who are tall for that matter. It's like simply dashing them our corner kicks for them to counter us. No wonder it's only one corner we have scored since even though we're one of the teams that have the highest corners this season.
Little wonder we're mostly counter attacked after a corner

I don't think even not making Saka a corner kick taker will even work with that corner tactics that's sabotaging us.

It's really sabotaging us and the worst part is that we're doing the same thing over and over again expecting something different

Sigh!!😩

At the bolded, for Liverpool or for Netherlands?

Even at that, reducing what Lampard did for his team and what Ward does currently to just scoring goals doesn't capture their true influence on the pitch...
Bellingham has scored a lot of goals for Madrid, and while it has won them points and helped them lead La Liga, Bellingham is still an ever important player when he doesn't score...

Interesting article on the difference between Arsenal of last season and this season...
It touches a bit on the factors we don't consider as fans sometimes; things like load management across a whole season and setting your team up with that in mind..

It's detailed enough to base opinions off of and easy enough to understand...

Also, y'all should cut Arteta some slack, winning a league that has Pep managing in it isn't easy..

The article is a bit lengthy but it is worth the read...

I am tired of reading comments like this, it is annoying to me. I mean, the EPL may as well award Pep the trophy at the start of the league, since the rest of the league are there to mark attendance.

Arteta is not doing Arsenal a favor coaching this team. The owners have invested a lot over the last 2 years. If the competition that includes Pep is too much then let’s find someone else who wants to win irrespective of who he is competing against.
