As National Hospital in Abuja denies reports it suggested that veteran Nollywood actor, Zack Orji, be referred to a private facility for Optimum quality treatment....

The hospital’s Chief Medical Director, Prof. Muhammad Mahmud, said the family of the thespian took him away from the hospital against the medical advice of the management.

The PUNCH reports that Orji, who was rushed to the intensive care unit of the hospital due to failing health, witnessed an improvement in his condition and was later visited on New Year’s Day by the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu.

Orji was reported to have been taken to a private hospital to undergo brain surgery

According to a statement on Thursday by the spokesman of the hospital, Tayo Hastrup, the family of the actor signed an undertaken to take him away even as he was being prepared for surgery after he stabilised.

The statement read, “The attention of the National Hospital, Abuja has been drawn to a publication insinuating that the apex hospital referred the Nigerian actor, Zack Orji to a private hospital in Abuja.

“To set the record straight, the actor, who was brought in on New Year’s eve and admitted to the intensive care unit, was stabilisrd by the National Hospital Abuja and moved to the ENT ward.

“Later in the day, he was transferred to the orthopedic ward, where our surgeons began preparing him for surgery. However, the relatives of the patient signed a form ‘Leaving Against Medical Advice’ on January 1, 2024.

I don't understand your assertion. People get sick everyday and it doesn't make headline because they aren't celebrities. Nothing spectacular or selective about it.

Yes people get sick, but then when a particular area of life or industry is under the spotlight, we pay attention there.

Nothing out of the ordinary, we all fall sick, regular people die daily out of worst sickness, diseases or basic natural death... why its may seem constant to you is because theirs is a small but celebrated community, alongside side a good number of them, basically those that are pioneers of that industry are in their ripe old age now.. so we can only pray for them to get well while we appreciate them for making part of our core memories beautiful.

Why not leave him at a facility where he can get good medical care

Like I said, the music industry did have casualty last year, doctors did, transporters, market woman, politicians,farmers, construction industry etc. Difference is one is under the spotlight by virtue of it nature while others are not. If records are released you would realize the entertainment industry lost nothing much compared to others.
