Nsukka GRA bro. That town is the next big fish in Igboland

I’ve also noticed the authorities at UNN have started taking landscaping a bit more seriously. You don’t see brown/bare earth patches here and there when viewing drone shots of the institution like you used to!

Finally, here is GRA, an exclusive destination for the "crème de la crème" of the city. Home to top government officials, captains of industries, imminent personalities, and business tycoons.

We played a football final here(Government Field) just after STC somewhere in 2016. omo we lost sha. That was before the governor renovated the stadium.

Why do we usually use the word 'urban' in enugu state, enugu state use the word more than any state in Nigeria and I think it is demeaning. Enugu should go with words like city or metropolis.
The word urban for me conotes a small town

I have never heard Onitsha urban , Aba urban , Port Harcourt urban it is only used in Enugu state and each time I hear it what comes to my mind is a semi rural area.
I don't know if it is only Enugu people that saw "urban" in the dictionary.

You are the one misunderstanding the connotation here, metropolis, megalopolis, city etc are all grouped or classified under urban areas but in this context when an Enugu man use urban for Enugu, he is trying to differentiate the state Enugu from the city of Enugu... Same with Nsukka, when an Nsukka man uses Nsukka urban, he is talking about Nsukka town alone and not the whole of Nsukka Cultural Zone.

Am not doubting what you said, what I mean is that we should be using more edifying word.
You must agree with me that the word 'urban' is now synonymous to enugu state as we are the only ones that use it in the entire country.
I lived in Anambra and l hardly heard 'awka urban' Onitsha urban, never have l hear anything like Lagos urban, Abuja urban, Port Harcourt urban despite that those areas have developed and undeveloped areas as well but they use more posh word to describe them.

Think about it, big city and mega city meant same thing but the later is mostly used in modern time

If I am not seeing pictures on this thread, it means that nothing really is happening in Enugu currently. It means that Mbah is yet to start anything substantial, if he has, it willl surely be posted here.

I was in Anambra last week, the state has very impressive rural development. Why doesn't Enugu have such development and economic activities going on in the rural areas?

oga everywhere do not need to be built up with houses and estates. Enugu city can be built up not other parts.

coupled with the size of Enugu state. 7000plus kq
Other sectors like Industrial and especially Agriculture is vital

Places live ogbaru and Anambra west. is purposefully mapped out for industrial and Agricultural activities

Urban centers in Anambra is made up of Onitsha, Newi and Awka.

If you turn every where to urban centers with houses everywhere what is your plan for the future?
Even as small as Lagos state is 3000k sq still have industrial and agricultural areas.

I only asked a simple question? undecided

For for information, rural areas that are gradually becoming a boisterous town in Enugu State from the ones I can remember are...

Obukpa,
Orba Nsukka
Ibagwa-Aka
Ugwuogo-Nike
Mgbowo
Iwollo
Ikem
Opi and a host of others that I can't remember now.

These were some so called rural areas few years back that are currently boasting of some better infrastructure per Nigerian Standard. Just like the ones in Anambra.

This mindset of yours is exactly my own believe until reality hit! I will explain.

It seems there is a deliberate plan from the government to frustrate Akanu Ibiam International airport Enugu and make it unviable. Either that or Ethiopian airlines are criminals sabotaging that route.

The low traffic AIIA Enugu is experiencing is due to deliberate sabotage by Ethiopian airlines or federal government wicked policies.

Could you believe that I wanted to book an international flight from Enugu to one of the cities in South East Asia only for Ethiopian airline to bill me over 3 million naira! For a one way ticket! The outrageous figure made me to check other routes and even other airlines and the result shocked me.

All the international airports in Nigeria including Lagos, Abuja, P.H and Kano charged significantly less than Enugu route. Sometimes, 3x less for same destination!

The same route Ethiopian airlines charged me 3m+ was what I got for a little above 1m from Qatar airways via P.H airport! That's three times lower than Enugu!

For someone based in Owerri, P.H is next door yet as a patriotic Igbo man, I would definitely prefer using Enugu that is farther away if the ticket prices were same or even a little higher for Enugu. But 3x higher is madness and a complete ripoff!

Now I understand why many Igbos don't make use of AIIA Enugu. That airport would definitely be getting 5x it's current traffic if not for this sabotage. Most travellers making use of P.H, Abuja and Lagos international airports are still Igbos and half of them would likely use Enugu if not for this sabotage.
