I was suprised that he was in the video too.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obi_Wali

Obi Wali (27 February 1932 – 26 April 1993) was a minority rights activist, politician, distinguished senator, literary scholar, and an orator from Nigeria. Among his achievements, he fought for the cause of the Ikwerre ethnic minorities.

When an Adamu and Ibrahim is interested in the disagreement between brothers who speak the same language, know it that it specifically for his own good and not for either of them.
The question is this; why do non-Biafrans i.e those who have no business with Biafra concern themselves with those who will be part of it or not? Why are these same people silent on the killings of their fellow Nigerians from their own territory in northern Nigeria? They actually love the ethnic cleansing happening there but will fake to love any ethnic group in Eastern region who disclaims Biafra. They want a dead Nigeria with daily bloodshed to continue but hate to hear about Biafra who have been wanting to stay on their own to build a great country for all those within her.
Just think about it.

Don't be too hard on yourself. Even the Itsekiri who share similarities with South Westerners wants to be left alone. People all over Nigeria respects their wish to be left alone as an independent tribe.

Lol, and you think they won't still be a minority in Niger Delta? If Ijaws could subdue them completely in old Rivers State then what do you think will happen under Niger Delta republic when Ijaws in Edo and Delta adds up?

They'll definitely suffer under Ijaws but they can't help it. So, their future is bleak.

You guys should be grateful because biafra failed!

1. The french that supported Biafra would have colonized it so as to get the oil.(as at that time, they were capable of producing 1 million barrels per day.)
2. South Africa(an aparthied state) would have loved to see Nigeria(an oil rich country) fail because they taught it was going to be a problem to their government.
3. People from North America wanted to see Nigeria fail so that they could push the narrative that "Blacks aren't capable of leading themselves" so that they could colonize Africa all over again and as a result steal more of its resources!

This is an iconic video clip from 1968.

One of the banners indicates that the Nigerian protesters in London are indigenes of the old Rivers State (now Rivers and Bayelsa States) from different ethnicities based on their dressing. One of the banners contained a message about the massacre of Rivers State indigenes by the rebel secessionists which indeed occured from historical records. The rebel secessionists in 1968 invaved and brutally forcibly deported over 12,000 Bakana/Kalabari people from their homeland (and other communities). They nstill commemorate the deliberate massacre and forcible conscription of their relatives by the rebel secessionists.

Biafra is part of Nigerian History and people from different Nigerian tribes died in the Biafran civil war.

Thus, ANY Nigerian can discus about Biafra

My Step-mum once recalled in a most emotional tone that shortly after the death of their father, three of her younger brothers joined the Military and were posted to fight in the Biafran civil war.

One was never seen again, one returned home and was discharged from the Army with a disability while one returned home as a decorated soldier and eventually became a Military Governor of Lagos State.

Atthairu, Ewang, Adeyemi, Ossai, Martins, Mshellia , Okonkwo, Ado, Uche and several other Nigerians from all sides died in the Biafran War.

FALSE, Ikwerre was not invented after the war and this wasn't even the crux of this protest.
These people didn't want their people be massacred by Biafran Forces.
They have a right to express and protect themselves and their heritage.

Igbos have been telling their narratives of the civil war, allow others to express their own narratives.

How is that your business?
If Igbos could be locking horns against a major ethnic group like the Yorubas over the control of Lagos, in Yorubaland, the minorities knew what could have befallen them in Biafra in which Igbo would have been the sole major tribe.

They understood the Igbos better and earlier.

The issue here is not about one Nigeria or two Nigeria but SELF PRESERVATION.

They were massacred by Biafran Forces and wanted Biafra to leave them alone.

They wouldn't have been protesting against Biafra if Biafra had left them alone.

Can see you bigoted revisionists have crawled out from the hole you hide in to try and editorialise events of the uncivil war and give them the anti-Igbo leaning you much prefer! A lot of you are Yoruba, and it comes as no surprise that you’re obsessed with this revisionist mission seeing as you’re one half of the two legged ‘ndi liberators’….the other leg being the muslim core north!

Assuming, without conceding, that those naive people shown in the clip are actually Ikwerre, do you honestly think that given the benefit of hindsight and seeing all that’s played out from the late 60s to date….ie, how the ‘liberators’ had fashioned and controlled the Nigerian political-economy to favour themselves, and have taken ownership and control of the ‘spoils of war’, with Ikwerreland left holding the short end of the stick….seeing all this, you really think they’d have no regrets for being so naive, used and dumped, and Fulani being on the wrong side of history!?

Before the ill-advised Nzeogwu-led coup, the region the Ikwerre were a part of was one of the fastest growing economies in the world! There was relative peace, and any issues that may have arisen amongst the ethnicities had been looked into by the Willinks commission and put to rest! Before the Nzeogwu-led coup, the Eastern Region had existed for just SIX YEARS, and of course a few teething problems were to be expected! But what happened was that some Ijaw elite, either acting on their own, or in concert with influencers from outsiders to the region, began to put a false narrative out there that said the Igbo were the ‘big bad wolf out to devour them and drink their blood and newly found oyel’! The Ijaw were the weakest link in the ability and capacity of the then Eastern Region…and later Biafra, to face the Yoruba/Fulani hegemonic alliance with a common front and commonality of purpose and defeat them on the battlefield! The hegemonic alliance found the Ijaw….and maybe also Ikwerre and Ogoni, to be the soft underbelly of a otherwise fearsome and determined opponent!

All this talk of Biafra/Igbo committing ‘war crimes’ is just the hegemonic alliance, together with the aid and active connivance of some self-centred and Igbo-hating ‘one Nigerianist’ Niger-Delta individuals, to try and change the narrative and facts pertaining to the war just to suit their anti-Igbo/‘one Nigeria’ agenda! It hasn’t gone unnoticed how the hegemonic alliance has tried using divide-and-rule tactics (a devious scheme perfected and deployed by the British colonials) to try and isolate Ndigbo from other ethnicities in the region….and till today they still have greedy, self-centred individuals in the region that they can bribe to do their bidding! This was why the hegemonic alliance found it easy to rig the presidential elections in the region last year!

Even with your very long meaningless epistle, I can tell you something for free. IKWERRE WILL NEVER REGRET NOT BEING IN YOUR BIAFRA.

Igbo people were stealing Ikwerre people lands and allocating only to Igbos in perpetuity, immediately the British created and handed the defunct Eastern region to them. This intensified immediately Biafra was declared when they started to brazenly invade Ikwerre farmlands to claim ownership, and declaring them as ‘biafraland’ because they had guns and others didn’t. Many of these invasions were led by some Igbos who had hitherto, lived in the communities and doing menial jobs for the indigenes, who didn’t know they living with snakes. Today, the same people will be feeding their children with complete lies and half truths.

Ikwerre elites were killed and some incarcerated. Igbo people were renaming Ikwerre towns and villages using their control of government. 95% of the appointments were Igbos.

You think that making Ijaw to appear like Ikwerre enemy will make them want to become Igbo but it will not happen. Ikwerre along with the Ijaw and other minority ethnic groups in the defunct Eastern region had already started agitating to be seperated from Igbo people even before independence.

In Rwanda, there was ethnic cleansing.
In Nigeria, there was a war to stop ethnic cleansing.

Biafrans left Biafra land and moved into Midwest to kill Bini, Itsekiri, Agbor and other Mid-Western people. They then moved further down south and hunted Efiks, Annangs, Ikwerres, Etches.
They continued this madness by marching on towards Lagos where they were defeated at Ore.

People die in war, Biafrans died in war. They fought a war and lost. Suck it up and stop throwing tantrums like toddlers.

They think fabricating stories and twisting history will change facts. People have chosen to forget the past and move forward but this people keep dwelling on false narratives to portray themselves as victims instead of the aggressors. They feed their offsprings with diets of hatred for people they should be apologising to.

On what basis are you, a nasty Igbo-hating bigot, declaring that 'Ikwerre will never regret not being in Biafra'!? I'm not Ikwerre, but just based on commonsense, i'd imagine that any reasonable ikwerre will compare what their parents and grandparents had in a Eastern Region that was recorded to be one of the fastest growing economies in the world at the time, against what they are now enduring in the Nigeria bequethed to them by the Yoruba/Fulani 'ndi liberators' and their sellout efulefu acomplices from the Niger-Delta....and even a few from the area presently now known as the south-east! YES!.....The Dr M I Okpara led Eastern Region was developing faster than countries/economic-zones who today we can't even see their breaklight: Singapore, UAE, Malaysia, South-Korea, etc! Imagine where we would have been today as a region or country had we continued the progress on that developmental trajectory! No reasonable Middle-Beltan, Niger-Deltan or Igbo, with the benefit of hindsight, will stand up today and claim with their full chest that they are happy with how events have played out in Nigeria from the late 60s to date!

Reading you rant and level of idiocy, i decided to take a cursory look at your profile! Just as i thought, most of your post history is riddled with anti-Igbo rhetoric...'ipig this and ipig that'! You registered around september last year and i suspect you're one of the e-thugs brought on to defend the emilokan mandate thiefs 'victory' at the so called supreme court! Are you Ikwerre or Yoruba? Answer this question in your reply! As you may have deduced by now, I'm Igbo...from Rivers state!

Dude, i put it to you that if that clip purporting to show Ikwerre protesting in London against Biafra is real, then it was organised and sponsored by the then Gowon led Nigerian gov't of the time to counter the bad press the federal side was getting for all the war crimes they were commiting in the Nigeria/Biafra war! I wouldn't be surprised if they organised it in a blind state of panic just after they commited the Asaba massacre! shocked Fact of the matter is, all you and the fools mirroring your daft revisionism and lies have displayed on this thread amounts to nothing more than a shameless excercise in conjectural claptrap! At best, we can credit you with having an active imagination and your 'talents' could be better deployed as a scriptwriter in Nollywood! On the other hand, there are 3rd party recordings, in local and international media of the time, detailing all the atrocities commited by the Gowon-led Nigerian gov't and army/civilians from the north against Igbos', other ethnicities from the then Eastern Region (YES!....even including the Ikwerre) and Biafrans' in general! We can each list our sources and links on here if you like, so we can count scores! Show links/reports of the time showing Igbo were 'murdering Ikwerre elite and incarcerating them on trumped-up charges'! Also, corroborate your claim with links/reports at the time showing the Igbo were 'stealing ikwerre peoples' land and renaming them'! I'd love to see these....we're all here to learn!
