Even if someone from Edo North should become the next Governor of Edo State it definitely shouldn't be someone from Estako,there are other tribes in Edo North such as Owan and Akoko-Edo. Philip Shaibu is just feeling too entitled. He has been in government since 2007 this kind of career politicians are the problem of Nigeria.

If it were so, then how come Edo South produced Lucky Igbinedion in 1999, then Edo North followed through Oshiomhole in 2007, and then when it got to 2016 when it should go to Edo Central if there were really rotation, both PDP and APC both gave tickets to Edo South again in the persons of Ize Iyamu and Obaseki respectively and the Edo Central members of both parties kept mute and campaigned vigorously for them?

at those times you talking about it was a matter of political preference

When binis ruled through lucky, it was not too compulsory for esan to be next cos there was still time in the young democracy.

Oshomole came in, after him it started heating up Edo central was the zone not yet gov

Oshomole been gov was supposed to field an esan man rather than obaseki but his esan hatred didn't let him

Since incumbent party fielded bini there was no way pdp an opposition would do otherwise when it was game of strength first, esan people had to sacrifice for common sense

This time obaseki is doing the right thing as incumbent to bring the ball where it should be, opposition don't have choice again becos even the voice on the street is talking of equity and justice

Lastly let me add that this is not even a competence excuse cos if you look at all the candidate there is no box that esan candidates don't think

Is it youngest, new faces they have them, is it the most experienced in the administration of industries across the country (none towers asue credentials)

Is it professionals? Is it the biggest philanthropists in the race, professors, is it proven performancers in govt at local level

I am for a competent esan gov, let all parties field theirs then we the people would choose the best regardless of party

You are even saying it too nicely. Shuaibu initiated the betrayal. He didn't support the betrayal. He initiated it.

Inorder for him to gain full freedom from oshiomhole, he had to ginger obaseki to spearhead the betrayal.

He created the panic in obaseki's mind of them not being in charge of the government and placing him as deputy to usurp obaseki Incase he falls out of line.

Was that a fair thing for shuaibu to have told obaseki, even if oshiomhole actually placed him there as leverage.

Owan and Akoko-Edo have not had the privilege of producing even Deputy governor .Even the emergence of the present speaker of the state house of assembly from Owan was kicked against by Philip Shaibu because of his selfish ambition
