Benbellamor:How many musicians were in Sunny Ade's generation compared to this generation?Few. Do you expect an occasion of 65-80 years to be inviting Portable or even Whizkid or Davido to come sing for them? But every weekend there is a club scene or party or some occasion and the competition for young musicians is stiff,so if you lag behind as per songs or entertainment value,you are pushed aside.No one can push Sunny Ade aside because of the age grade and genre he appeals to have few competitors. As rave making as Davido,Asake,Wizkid are,talkless of Portable,in the next 5years or more,they won't be the go to artistes any longer. Where is small doctor today after his hit song? When you also don't continually make hit songs,things become tough for you to sustain the kind of livestyle you are used to,so you have to mellow down on some things to cope with your new financial situation. 2 Likes |

Benbellamor:The difference is that the likes of Sunny Ade are complete Musicians while most of the current artists are not... How many of these artists have a band, how of them can perform with band?
