I received an auto message which the subject : Update or ask about your application: Withdraw or cancel your application-Temporary Residence -Temporary Resident Visa

they do not send an email stating that your application has been withdrawn.
You can apply immediately once you submit a withdrawal webform

Joytitilayo:
pls, do they send you any email that your application is cancel/withdraw before you reapply,

quote author=damdee post=127847581]MY family Canada visitor visa was approved from london Uk and we are on a UK student visa

Wife and two kids Application submitted on August 31, 2023 AND 5 years visitor approval September 15, 2023 ( just 10 business days )
Mine - Application submitted on September 27, 2023 AND 10 years visitor approval October 25, 2023 ) ( 22 business days )

Both of us acknowledged our U.S A. denials in 2017 and 2019. Initially, I failed to declare mine, prompting me to withdraw the application. Subsequently, I submitted a new application after completing a webform disclosing both the U.S. refusal and the cancellation of the initial application. In total, I submitted two webforms – the first addressing the U.S. refusal and the second addressing the application cancellation. Following that, I proceeded to submit a new application on September 27, 2023.

We spent two weeks in Canada and have now returned to the UK.

So you can wait it out, Or just cancel the application using a webform and reapplying again immediately

good luck

This is a tough question to answer because no one can give a precise answer. When did you do the biometrics?

A formality...yes but they also consider some factors when processing your application. They want to be sure you'd return after your visit to their country. If they discovered you've been to the USA a couple of times and had returned within the permissible time, or you hold a passport of some respected countries, you're most likely to have your visa processed much faster, irrespective of the processing time stated on their website.

In terms of infrastructure, life, beauty and things that could discourage you from returning to Nigeria, America has it more. Canada only needs people to fill their job vacant positions and grow their economy.

Finding a job in Canada has become tough, and many people are struggling to express their difficulties. It's disheartening to see professionals taking low-paying jobs just to make ends meet due to the high cost of living. International students also face challenges finding work to support their education. The silent suffering is worsened by societal pressures back home. If you know someone who recently moved to Canada, reach out with words of encouragement, as many silently bear the burden, impacting their mental health. I met a girl on a bus in toronto who was crying after we discussed these challenges. Hoping for better times ahead.

Please brace yourselves. Most of us here on this forum are visitors/tourists who visit regularly on holidays or programmes and return to Nigeria afterwards. I think this piece of advice would be more relevant at the Canada students visa and Express entry sections, hoping they'd have a sense of reasoning. Thanks.

I've been following this thread since it was created almost 10 years ago. We know ourselves. New entrants here may have obtained a visit visa and left for Canada after tapping from the rich ideas shared by members here but refused to come back.

At least, I know of those who have been travelling to Canada long before this thread was created and are also members here. Most of us visit only cos we have strong ties to Nigeria. We work and live here. I've been visiting since 2005 when we used to apply for canada visa at their embassy at anifowoshe office, VI. Processing time back then was 2 weeks. That was before they sub-contracted visa processing to the VFS Global. My first US visa was obtained about same year.

Be that as it may, if anyone chooses to visit Canada and ends up staying back, who am I to stop that person? It's their choice bro. The economic situation isn't smiling. Anyone who has the opportunity to japa should do so, but sensibly. Go to study there like most of us did, tap opportunities and come back home to utilize it.

Our leaders and those who supported them will be met with God's reward. They're the cause of the current economic woes

If you say maybe 90% of people going to canada on a visitor visa 5 to 7 years ago return back to nigeria and dont overstay their visit, might be true. Recently maybe from 2022 and especially now, over 90% of Nigerians going to canada on a visitors visa, especially people age 35 and below has NO intention of returning back. Its evident on the numbers of nigerian seeking asylum currently in canada. Even Nigerian student in canada are seeking asylum. Just leave story.
