If you think you can be a minister or civil servant and still own a company that do business with Government, you are ignorant.

The law forbids you from doing that because of clash of interest.

The only thing that can save Dr. Tunji Ojo is if he resigned his position as director or whatever from the company before/immediately taking up the ministerial appointment. I feel sorry for him cos he was performing. But he that must come to equity must come with clean hands.

Have you checked the laws or you are just emotional? Dr Tunji Ojo most likely will be a major shareholder or Director in that company. The only saving grace is if he has resigned or sold off his major shares.

The above amounts to wrong conduct for public service reason he was not invited by EFCC but CCB.

Mr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo is a strong believer of our principle in Nigeria: where man dey work, na for there him dey shop. The only problem is that he has been caught in the act.

But then, the minister has a good plan for his ministry. The reforms are commendable and the milestone achieved so far will collapse if he is sacked. For this, he needs to stay and finish what he started because he's doing a great job in his ministry.

Still under investigation, but this is the time we the masses need to act and stand with people like this because he is the only hope we have so far because if he is removed the real big thief will come in and do what they know how to do best which is the stealing and still make things difficult for the masses. One of the sabotwa strategy. If this man really did it, he should learn from his mistake and be a good leader we want him to be because if such happens again, he will be thrown out of that office.

Then you fire the new thief but a confirmed thief cannot be rewarded! Its the worst thing a society can do, to rewaard a confirmed thief
SoNature:

Story for the deities. You probably started listening to the news recently or lack emotional intelligence. Nigerians don't come to public service to work. Instead, they come to public service to steal. If you remove this one that is even willing to work, you will replace him with a bigger thief.

There are more than 36 ministers in Nigeria, but just about 4 have active ministers. What does that tell you about Nigerians? Simple: Nigérians are dubious, opportunitistic and hypocritical! Even those who criticize the government aren't any better; they just don't have the privileges government officials enjoy.

I was heart broken the day seun of channels Tv asked him about the said money because his ministry happens to be one of the very few ministries with a clear cut road map and trying all he can to make the plan work ie the Issue of clearing visa backlog .

He said he has resigned as the CEO of the company since 2019 but seun followed it up by telling him the place the said letter of resignation was submitted to claimed they never saw the letters

Read what you just wrote an obviously corrupt individual should remain in his post because he has reformed the ministry?...I weep for Nigeria, we have been so bereft of competence, reforms that can be done by anyone with an ounce of common sense , if you know how other countries process passports then you know this is NO BIG DEAL !!.

Corrupt individuals should be sacked if the nigerian govt wants to have any ounce of credibility

It's not a case for the EFCC. The services were rendered but the issue is the company is for an interested party, hence CCB.

He should be allowed to concentrate and focus, please!
If the said contracts passed through the normal bidding code and were not influenced by his office, nor, intimidate the Ministry of Humanitarian to award them, then, he is free. His involvement in cabinet doesnt mean a company he was once a director should cease operation.

By the way, you can never get a total saint to bring the needed change in this country. All the people we are clamoring for has one or two cockroaches in their keyboards. Not to even mention Saint Sinless Peter Obi. Peace!

He might have to step down.

It is rumored that Northerners are demanding if Betta Edu can fall, Tinubu should not protect a Yoruba appointee.

The man too should have known that he that demands equity must come with clean hands. You demand your underlings to be productive without taking bribes and yet, you engage in a contract scam! if it was just 10% of an actual contract, he would probably not be in this situation today.

Anyway, I don't know the full story. He might even be innocent.

Rubbish...A thief is not to be exempted from facing the law just because he uses his proceeds from theft for charity. Selective justice isn't right for any society built on strong norms and value system. There are a thousand Nigerians who can still do that brilliant job you are praising him for and still keep their public service integrity unscathed.

E go hard small because their pay packet for their jobs does not match the cost of living in Abuja. Many honest ones may decline their appointments after a few months if they feel their income can't cover living cost. Abuja isn't cheap and security and power supply I imagine will be concerns as well.

Only rich technocrats who want to sacrifice for the nation can take up such slots. You have the lives of Pat Utomi for instance.

N500 million for "consultancy", that is the buzzword for getting paid humongous amount of money for doing absolutely nothing. No way would the so called consultancy contract have been awarded to his former company without his influence, and no way is the Beta Edu madam not getting a kickback from this contract and the other N3 billion "consultancy" contracts she awarded.

Betty Edu is finished. Bola Tinubu has washed his hands totally off her. She is on her own

Tinubu would probably tolerate an appointee who performed and stole.

But for someone who only steals and does not perform, such will be cut off. From Betty Edu's history in Cross River state, her overambitious nature and greed preceded her. Tinubu might or might not have known her past but he had political debts to pay and so gave her the job. If you noticed, he appointed some other questionable characters into his government. Debts are debts.
