Cancri: And what does Russia need from any country that will make her want to attack it? You said the west has done more good than bad. Please mention this good? Don't tell me technologies because it is being sold and not given to anyone for free. I don't want to hear aids either because their aids are never free. So what good have the west done ,that surpass their bad? 5 Likes 1 Share |

Cancri: So because of democracy , all their bad should be erased? Where was the democracy when Julian asange was and still imprisoned? How has democracy helped Nigeria? Same democracy that allows the USA to sanction only their enemies but turn a blind eye to their colleagues when ever they commit atrocities? Same democracy that calls for the arrest of Putin over the deaths of less than a thousand of civilians in a war of 2 years plus and for moving children away from war zones which the west termed kidnapping. Same democracy overlooks and is afraid or unable to call for the arrest of Netanyahu of Israel in a war of less than 7 months that has brought about the deaths of over 5 thousand civilians and still counting. .. Same democracy that made the USA turn a blind eye or forget the brutal killing of kashiogi by the Saudis. Same democracy whereby countries who practice democracy have waged or sponsored more wars than authocrats or the so called tyrannical countries since after the world war 2. Please read all these carefully and research on them yourself ,then come back and explain why those who claim to be lovers of freedom have caused more deaths and destruction than those accused of not practicing freedom? I'll be waiting 10 Likes 2 Shares |

elvisgaga: See, let me write a short history of this thread for those that are new Initially, when the conflict in Ukraine began, there was no specific discussion thread dedicated to the war or related matters. One pastor righteousless, initiated a world news thread, and some of us joined to express our opinions. However, due to our opposition to perceived Western wrongdoings, we were driven away with offensive insults. They insisted we create our own thread, which we did. Writerng initiated this thread and invited some of us. They came back to the thread they ask us to create to mock us. Despite initial mockery claiming our thread lacked engagement and was considered dead, over time, people recognized the thread's authenticity. They realized that not only did it contain factual information, but it also housed knowledgeable analysts in international relations and politics. Gradually, our engagement increased, surpassing others with similar topics. Despite attempts to undermine the thread, it proved unsuccessful then and remains so now. Hence, I advise against engaging with those trying to disrupt. It's just jealousy, if this thread wasn't doing well they won't care about it. I've been through it; they'll eventually tire out, only to be replaced by a new set. 14 Likes 2 Shares |

To the guest reading, you have a working brain, do your own research yourself ,read books for a start read (how Europe underdeveloped Africa by walter Rodney) because if you can't read or make researches you can never be free mentally from the westerners media enslavement. 9 Likes 2 Shares |

Alamkir: I attest to the factual genuineness of this your explanation. As has always been my practice, I'm 80 percent of a silent reader and an occasional commenter. Righteousness's thread was so toxic and hugely inclined towards Western propaganda to the point I stopped opening it, before I found this one, sometime later. I was sceptical about this at first but I wasn't disappointed with the daily contents when I eventually joined, because I realised 97 percent of the content brung here by the OP could be verified, which I constantly do. A huge bulk of the antagonists to this thread have close to no knowledge of International relations of countries and their political landscapes. This isn't me looking to demean anybody, but it is the fact. I read certain exchanges and wonder how people can have shit for brains. A small peek at my profile will tell you that outside nairaland, I have very good links to the outside world. Not only do I have families and acquaintances spread across different countries, I equally have business interests likewise. Those of us who are knowledgeable of these things are very comfortable with the work this young man is doing bringing neat information here for the easy deglutition of all and sundry. Whether or not others see Russian-laced propaganda in his updates is inconsequential. WriterNig brings mostly facts here and that's all that matters. Every other opinion should be shoved where the sun don't shine! Heck, I've never even quoted the young man directly or engaged him in anyway. I don't contribute here, but I have to be an idiot not to admit that this particular thread is one major reason I open nairaland at least once a day. 13 Likes 3 Shares |

You are right. I still don't even understand why i hate Iran and love Saudi Arabia. And i dont even know why I still love Israel even though some people said they are recist. Believe me I still want a strong Russia to counter balance the USA because nobody knows what the US might do if left unchaked, but I am not I support of what Russia is doing to Ukraine. And I'm not I support of what Ukraine did to ethnic Russians living in Ukraine Jovi10: |

Cancri:Democracy? you are a teenager... Let me tell you what you dont know, money is freedom in the world of today, democracy has not stopped police from brutalizing people that speak up against your evil leaders. It didnt also stop Ukraine government from arresting and torturing an American citizen. NO MATTER THE SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT, A POOR MAN IS THE MOST OPPRESSED. Democracy is a voting system which is not perfect it is designed to oppress the minority... If you the look at the word GOVERNMENT comes from two words GOVERN-control and MENT- mental or mind (by any means possible). the minority in a voting system is know as the opposition, those that the government or a political ideology have failed to control. Democracy is designed to eliminate the minority, those that do not agree with its ideology... 1 Like |

Thanks to Putin and the SMO the Hegemon is now in a Quagmire, Houthis, Hezbolla Hamas and other Resistance movements all over ME, it will be an unending Insurgency especially for Israel. Then Ukraine I can't wait to see how Odessa would be another Mauripol, Ukraine will be a Landlocked Country thats for sure, because Putin said it himself that Odessa is a Russian City. The Hegemon is going down and we can see that his pawns even in the deepest Jungle of Western Africa and kicking and gnashing their teeth at his dwindling influence and power, we can see that even on this Thread. 10 Likes 1 Share |

Cancri: Good very good. I'm glad you at least have a conscience and a working brain. Now before Russia invaded Ukraine, they have called the attention of UN and the west to the ethnic cleansing of Russians in the donbass region but they didn't listen. The minsk agreement was on the table since 2014 till 2020, this is a whole lot of patience from Russia. Zelensky was even laughing in a meeting with Putin when this agreements where being discussed (the video is online). Boris Johnson then prime minister went to Ukraine and convinced zelensky not to sign. NATO themselves agreed that they have been training ukrainian troops since 2014 why? At a time when peace agreementz where being discussed? NATO themself admitted they purposely delayed negotiation so that they can fully arm and prepare ukraine for war against Russia. So in this case, if you were Russia , what will you do? 5 Likes 1 Share |

Yes I would have don thesame thing to protect myself. What i am saying is that the Russians should go after those who broke the agreement and eliminate them. The killing of innocent soldiers who have no choice but to fight is what i dont like. Jovi10: |

Jovi10:Actually the USA has a better democracy than "government of the majority". In the USA different states have different weights in the general elections and it doesn't depend on the size of the population of those states. That makes much more sense than Nigerian general elections in which your "tribe" just has to have more people for your man to win. Democracy means: "power of the people", not "power of the majority". Every group should normally have the same weight irrespective of demography. And there should be rules which balance things for every group. The Nigerians who made the constitution were really dumb, they brought about the most stupid form of government that was possible. They just literally copied from each western nation, the worse part of its governing process. People keep forgetting that trump didn't win the majority when he won the general elections. It is not supposed to be about winning majority. That is the one thing Americans got right. 1 Like |

Democracy is also not about elections, it is about all the power being the property of the people, by the people and for the people. Don't forget Hitler came to power through elections. |

nahr: The US is grandstanding in Yemen. America knows she cannot afford to escalate tensions to culminate in an all-out war that would involve Iran. If that happens, the American government and economy will receive a devastating impact, considering the role being played in Israel and Ukraine. Already, resources are being spread really thin to fund the on-going wars. A third front in Yemen with the Houthis is going to be the one solid excuse North Korea will need to move on South Korea and China on Taiwan. Forget the noise being made here on nairaland, but the US is weak, both financially and militarily, as of this moment. And with tensions already boiling amongst American citizens for the stupendous roles and policies Biden is playing out, it is going to take just one more silly mistake for Biden to be impeached. This is no longer about the quest to flex might as world powers, but there is plenty of disquiet within the American society and Biden is on the detrimental end. So is there a possibility of a war in the middle east? Yes, very much likely. Iran desperately wants one. North Korea cannot wait. China is smirking and doodling in the background waiting for that moment to squeeze Taiwan and America knows she cannot afford one right now. The cost is going to be too great for them to bear. 4 Likes 4 Shares |

Russia has captured the donbass area but Ukraine supported by the west kees shelling this areas and trying to take them back. So you see, russia is only protecting her people. |

🇾🇪🇺🇸US warns ships against transiting in southern Red Sea The US Navy has said there is “a high degree of risk to commercial vessels transiting the Southern Red Sea” between the 12th parallel north and the 16th parallel north. “While the decision to transit remains at the discretion of individual vessels and companies, it is recommended that U.S. flag and U.S. owned commercial vessels remain north” of the 18th parallel north in the Red Sea, the US Navy’s central command said. The warning comes after a Houthi missile struck a US-owned and operated cargo ship in the Gulf of Aden. The vessel sustained minor damage and there were no injuries. The strike comes after the US and UK struck Houthi positions in Yemen in retaliation for their targeting of commercial ships. 🎙Subscribe to The Islander ♦Twitter /X | Substack</... |
