The British energy giant, Shell, is concluding nearly a century of onshore oil and gas operations in Nigeria by selling its subsidiary, The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC), to the Renaissance consortium for a substantial $1.3 billion. This notable divestment signifies a strategic shift for Shell, as it aligns with the company's intention to withdraw from onshore oil production in the Niger Delta. https://igberetvnews.com/1461033/orji-isa-falade-meet-5-oil-moguls-bought-shell-onshore-oil-assets-nigeria-1-3bn/ Mynd44 Lalasticlala 1 Like

Gbogbowa:Lol. It’s not that simple. The total deal is 2.4 billion dollars. 1.3 is the first payment, the rest will be paid upon certain deliverables being transferred. They also take up the liabilities of SPDC so it is not as straight forward as you think. But in the end, I agree with you that 1.5 billion dollars for rehab of a refinery is a lot 4 Likes |

HeWrites:Pa Samuel Dossou-Aworet is the biggest fish among them. He is the Chairman/ Founder, Petrolin and Chairman of ND Western. His nationality is Beninoise and from his name, Awo ret, he is probably with Yoruba roots. |
Re: Orji, Isa, Falade: Meet 5 Oil Moguls That Bought Shell Onshore Oil Assets In Nig by PROUDIGBO(m): 3:40am On Jan 17 |
Akwamkpuruamu: The OP is being economical with the list! I just saw a report of the aquisition on AriseTV News, and 50% of the names listed there were Yoruba......Dr Layi Fatona, CEO of Arandel, and Engr Bayo Ojulari were omitted by the OP. The Mr Eberechukwu Oji that the OP prominently listed first is just the MD of ND Western Petroleum while Mr Samuel Aworet is the Chairman. Engr Tony Atta (i think he's the former MD of LNG) and Mr Abdul' Isa, Chairman of Waltersmith, are the only two from the north. They found a way to get in a Igbo name just to make people like you think it's a fair and balanced WAZOBIA list and the Igbo are among! By the time Tinubu has finished achieving what he came into power to achieve, that's when the scales will fall from your eyes! Buhari has done his own and handed the baton over to him! |

Good to see local investors taking over the investment. What I don't want to hear is them not being able to produce enough from this platform due to technical deficiency or financial strength. We need all we can get to meet our OPEC quota and it's the less investment in this space that has brought our daily production down. |

nairalanda1: That is the irony. You see the very poor hungry ones who can't feed themselves 3 times a day trying so hard to push tribalism. They open threads and type rubbish Epistles to push tribalism that no one cares about 🤣🤣 Check their profiles they have no job nothing to hold onto as an achievement so they are bitter and frustrated so they use tribalim to vent their frustrations 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 There is even one named PortHarcourtcit who goes around the forum pretending to be from Rivers state just to push his tribalism narrative. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 These guys can't feed themselves in real life. 🤣 4 Likes |

PROUDIGBO: How does this concern Tinubu or is it Tinubu that is buying it on their behalf ? Have any other Igbo business men show interest but were rejected ? All you know is victim mentality. Anything that is not in your favour must be rigged against you, typical losers mentality. |

PureFace1: You engage in wanton greed and covetousness, and when those being cheated complain you get furious! That Arandel, i only started hearing of them after Tinubu stole the presidency and became president! Just a few weeks after Tinubus' unfortunate swearing in, all of a sudden we hear Oando has bought the assets of Agip Nigeria PLC, and we saw demonstrations by its staff who weren't happy with the takeover! Seplat, a coy in which some Igbo own large (if not controlling interests) has been trying for years to buy the onshore assets of Mobil, yet have been frustrated and oppossed all the way by the same Nigerian gov'ts (Buhari and now Tinubu) that sees nothing wrong with the rushed acquisition of Shell and Agip by coys owned mainly by Yoruba (both acquisitions happening after Tinubu became president)! Yet you get angry when this obvious fact is pointed out!? It's clear to even the blind that the APC and Buhari/Tinubu gov'ts are anti-Igbo and primarily interested in using their control of the federal gov't to favour their own ethnic groups first before others get a look-in! https://www.channelstv.com/2023/09/08/agip-staff-protest-acquisition-of-company-by-oando-in-port-harcourt/ https://www.lawyard.org/news/court-stops-exxonmobil-from-selling-1-28bn-assets-to-seplat/ https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/nigerian-president-withholds-approval-exxon-mobils-asset-sale-2022-08-11/#:~:text=ABUJA%2C%20Aug%2011%20(Reuters),refused%20to%20give%20its%20consent. |

PROUDIGBO: So you really think it was the government that influenced the decision of the court to stopped Seplat ? This your if it didn't favor us then it must be rigged against us mentality is annoying. So you really think Hausa Fulani are stupid to be handling assets like that to Yoruba companies ? You think Buhari wouldn't hand something like that to his brothers first if it was because of tribalism he was withhelding the sales ? In this country Yoruba are just better in business and the economy of this country is majorly in Yoruba hands, so Yoruba will always have a slight advantage in something like this. The faster you know this the better for you, instead of all this incessant wailing and victimization. During the 6 years of GEJ and 8 years of Buhari. It is a well known fact that Yoruba dominated most of the companies operating in Niger delta, if all these companies are just springing out of no where recently then you might have a point but those companies have been doing business in Niger delta for long. It is the right decision to hand over to them because they are already familiar with the environment, Yoruba just happened to dominate, there is no conspiracy everything is just in your head. |
