In either case, the day the embassy receives your passport is when the stamping process begins.

Yes, you can apply from anywhere, but you will need to give the reason why you can't apply from Nigeria.

Firstly, it is easier when you apply canada visa from your home country with a USA visa on ur passport . It is faster. But now, being in the USA, you can try. If you are a regular traveler to the USA, it will also help your case. However, as a first-timer in the USA, I hope you have not overstayed because you need to explain why you are applying from the USA since you are not a USA resident or student.

What I noticed was people saw the Cana green lights around May/June and planning started by July,so Aug/Sept & Oct saw a lot of applications and biometric. As it is now, Oct applicants are not talking now because they are waiting for Sept while the latter are waiting for Aug success story. The waiting shall be fruitful.

However, now in Nigeria 2024, you are applying for a 10-year passport, and your eligibility has started. You have received a passport request and are sending your passport to IRCC for tourist visa . canada v visa promo has ended..refuse flying left and right now...l no understand many that got refuse last week and this week dey shy to come share online...please no big deal in visa refuse . you repackage and fire back but when thoes they give visa bofore na asylum majority face ,we should know by now approval rate go slow down unless we want deceive ourself and we can also see from the limit on student cap this week it evidence canada don dey close door small small like other western countries

I have tried to submit my form IMM5257 online but I am getting error message "The form could not be submitted because errors were found."

Did anybody else get that error message? How did you resolve it? If I cannot upload the forms online, I will need to print them and apply in-person. Let me know if you applied in-person recently and how you went about the application.

You can always apply for a visit visa in another country as long as you are there legally. Nothing stops you from doing that. What will be a problem is justifying your application to the embassy and being able to put together all the necessary documents without needing to travel to your home country? However, if you have a valid reason for applying, you will get a visa. Also note that the visa conditions doesn't suddenly change for you because you are in the US. You will still be subjected to the same application conditions as if you were in Nigeria.

You made a point because the ratio of biometric to approval is like 20:1. I believe things go change again by 2025. Let's hope alive

You certainly don't know what you are saying okay. If you have been denied I expect you to speak out rather than all this assumption....


Knowledge is wealth as we aren't in a stone Age as such I will suggest you join platform and see things for your self instead of quoting what brothers around you are saying without any fact.

These back and forths are because Tensions are high due to high work load on IRCC and of course slow approvals in turn. Don’t worry they’ll soon douse the tension by sending in a rain of PPR’s that way everyone will calm down. It is well.
