Chukwuemeka Woke, ex-Chief of Staff to former Governor Nyesom Wike and re-nominated Commissioner for Special Projects spoke on behalf of his colleagues at a GDI rally, on the same day, they were sworn-in.

GDI is a grassroots movement that railroaded Nyesom Wike to Office in 2015

Please permit me to use this opportunity to clear one thing on behalf of my colleagues (other re-nominated Commissioners). While seated, the MC and those on this side of the podium had introduced me, Prof Mmom and Dr Gift (re-nominated Commissioners) and you applauded. I know you are happy that one of yours has been appointed Commissioner.

We wouldn't have addressed this matter because it is our resolution not to address it but while we were seated here, we saw a press release by the SA to the Governor of Rivers State, Siminialayi Fubara, that we resigned on our own volition and returned on our own volition.

It is important that we correct the impression, that we never returned to anywhere but we were recalled based on Presidential proclamation and I know those of you who are GDI members know that we are men of integrity and pedigree. If we stand by something, we stand by that thing to the end of it. We did this as a sacrifice for the peace and the progress of the Nation, because we were part of the stakeholders that Mr President invited to Abuja for that meeting. We listened to Mr President and we understood every detail of the pronouncement he made.

And so let me also put it on record, that even before our recall, we were written to by the Secretary of the Rivers State Government to write or indicate if we want to come back, none of us, the integrity nine commissioners ever responded to that letter. We were sworn-in today (Friday) because we have the stability and peace of the Nation and Rivers people at heart

I guess there is still a long way to peace in Rivers State. The strong rhetoric and body language from the two camps are not encouraging at all. It’s time for all the principal actors to talk less and sacrifice more if they all truly want peace.

Rivers state is a tough state, just like Lagos, Imo, North-East states and a few others.
These states should not be ruled by simps without a strong mind of their own, otherwise political hyenas will overrun its politics to the detriment of the people.

This simp of a governor should have learnt from Edo governorship politics and used the exit of these headstrong dissenters to consolidate power in the State.

I'm not advocating for a judiciary that is controlled by the executive, but rather a political atmosphere that is devoid of useless political tussles.
An independent judiciary that constructively criticizes the executive is a blessing to the State.
But this one that dances to a different drummer right now can only drag Rivers in the mud for the next four or eight years.

By the way, what exactly is Balablu's concern with returning lawmakers who voluntarily resigned their positions back to office?
Seems he's looking for another shameless Wike to criminally allocate votes to him in the next election year.

Fubara is a pure and applied midget. What a disgusting scene.

I can't imagine myself as a Governor being so weak and technically sidelined as the principal officer of my state.

The commissioner technically made it clear that Fubara is not their principal and boss.

I'd rather leave the seat for them than to appear like a caricature or a puppet.

Even if I'll swear them in by playing to the gallery, I must leave a stern warning note of 'do anyhow, see anyhow'.

I hate weak people.
